There are times in our lives when most of us feel lost, anxious, and uncertain because of changes we have no control over. Consequently, it can impact our relationships, causing sleepless nights and ill-health. Such as depression, anxiety, or generally unwell, causing loneliness where we feel no one understands us or the challenges we face. Counselling is an opportunity to talk to someone independent who is non-judgmental and totally outside of your typical day to day life.
I have been counselling for over 14 years. I started work with Cruse a national bereavement charity, who I still continue to work for. When I became fully qualified I started my own practise, I have worked for The Ambulance Service Charity. I have worked with clients who have PTSD. (Post traumatic stress syndrome) Counselling is... .The main aim of counselling is to create an emotionally safe space and an accepting, caring relationship in which the client can explore, discover and clarify ways of living more satisfyingly and resourcefully.

After mulling over if therapy was for me I tried several therapists in Leicester area and did not have much luck, mostly due to not being able to connect with the right person. Then a colleague mentioned RHCP cos they do an initial assessment then pair you with the right person, which worked loads better for me. From the first call I made they took my details and I got a sense of warmth and compassion ( I later got to know the reception staff well and they are real nice). Well after 6 months I decided to say a little thank you / recommendation for anyone who is considering engaging with therapy at RHCP. Everyone's journey is different but I have felt they are a professional establishment that look after and respect my welfare. A particular big Thank You to my therapist too, she was so knowledgeable, and knew when to listen and when to challenge me, I feel so different now and am so pleased I took the plunge and started the sessions. Thank you
Gestalt therapy offers scope for creative expression work, particularly where words feel not enough, or indeed, too much. My approach recognises each person brings their own unique and individual experiences to therapy. I work with a very wide range of issues such as depression, anxiety, anger, bereavement. I work with self esteem issues that are often brought about through bullying, undue parental criticism, and other adverse childhood experiences.

Dawn is an incredible therapist. She has helped me in more ways than she will ever know. When I first went to Dawn I was so nervous, I was a mess, my anxiety had completely taken over and that then led to over thinking everything and thinking the worst was going to happen. Dawn listens to all my words, I have never felt judged in any of my sessions, I can speak the truth with her, she cares in what you are saying and she creates the most calming atmosphere for you to feel secure. I have been seeing Dawn since July 2020 and will continue to keep her as my therapist and point of call when I need reassurance on my "bad days". Thank you Dawn for continuing to listen to my worries and to calm me down in times of need, forever greatful x
