What do you love most about your job?

'Second Home, First Love' is our motto. First things first, my team is what I love most about the job. I'm privileged to work with such a focussed and talented bunch of people who give their all to each project. To say that every day is different is something of an understatement. One day we might be asked to design a CGI tour around the human genome, the next making talking bananas made from plasticine. Animation is about creating an illusion of life in the inanimate and the conceptual. My favourite part of the job is looking into a set and feeling like you're looking into another world.

What inspired you to start your own business?

It was a mixture of accidental circumstances, serendipity, a change in the weather and a dogged determination to make our own mark.

Why should our clients choose you?

For the very simple reason that every penny spent will end up on screen, guaranteed. The phone normally rings when clients want something a bit out of the ordinary. We're known for our innovative approach to every project, but don't take our word for it:
'Second Home Studios are the perfect mix of technical acumen and all out creative flair,' Tony Jopia. Creative Director, Sony Europe.

I have literally just completed work on my short animated film about becoming a Carer for my partner. It was a long, winding and frustrating journey to finding Neal Handley.....the very excellent animator. It was a deeply personal project and Neal had the sensitivity, patience and kindness I needed to see it through to completion. He is a really good listener, remains calm under pressure and has a lovely sense of humour which helped tremendously. Alway open to my ideas, willing to contribute his own thoughts and skilled at translating my vision into the film I wanted to make. Thank you Neal.....so much......I even got a new friend as a bonus! Eternally grateful...and thanks to Bark too for helping me find him. Annie Cornbleet

We had Emile as videographer at our wedding and it was an amazing experience! A few days after the wedding we received our video which was absolutely wonderful, the quality for both image & sound was very good, he captured & selected the most beautiful moments, showing the genuine people's emotions on this day! Overall, it was a great experience, Emile worked very well with our photographer, had some brilliant ideas for additional clips after the ceremony, and he came with 3 cameras (set 2 on tripods, 1 hand-held camera with him) and 2 microphones. All the ceremony and clips after were lovely recorded, capturing well the speakers, the music and the reaction of the people, making also very good use of the surroundings when filming outdoors! Many thanks to Emile for filming our wedding, it was lovely to meet him and we felt very comfortable with him - he has a special gift to make people feel at ease, with a friendly and relaxed personality! We had lots of emotions on the wedding day, we were not used to cameras, but we really enjoyed it and we are glad Emile captured all these magic moments for us!
