I can’t thank Richard enough for helping me not only with my fitness, but with my mental wellbeing too. He is friendly, knowledgeable, professional, and a great personal trainer to work with. The aftercare is great and he’s always got good advice. I would highly recommend him to anyone. More...

How do you help your clients achieve their fitness goals?
I am passionate about helping clients achieve their health and fitness goals, whatever their age and experience (my oldest client is 75 years old).
I bring over 20 years experience of motivational skills, 15 years of sports coaching and an understanding that people's requirements differ i.e. I offer training that is based on my own life experiences, meaning I am always sympathetic to a client's individual needs which allows strong relationships to be developed.
The start of the process is an initial consultation to determine your goals (short and long term) followed by an Assessment (consisting of a number of static and dynamic tests) to gauge your current level of fitness etc. (both are at no charge). This allows a bespoke programme to be constructed which is agreed and reviewed regularly.
I have trained clients with a variety of goals, including
- weight loss
- muscle toning
- improved flexibility and posture
- to reduce discomfort from muscular pain e.g. lower back, hip, knee ........
What’s the secret to getting the body of your dreams?
There is no secret, its about hard work!
My part in the process is to understand your true goals, create a structured programme around these goals whilst ensuring time lines are realistic.
Critical to this will be my ability to build progression into the programme to ensure you are challenged (safely) and motivation remains high throughout the programme.
What do you love most about your job?
Undoubtedly helping people achieve their health and fitness goals.
I enjoy the whole process, from the initial contact with a prospective client, through to designing a programme, carrying out the training, helping them through the "moments of doubt" and celebrating real progress towards their goals.
What inspired you to start your own business?
After working for a large corporate company for 20 years I decided e it was time to regain my independence and follow a career path which allows me to have a direct influence on people's well being on a one to one basis. Building good relationships to allow a goal to be achieved has always be a strength and to do this through a business that I have sole responsibility for was particularly appealing.
Why should our clients choose you?
I am well organised and structured in all that I do which will ensure programmes are appropriate, progressive and reviewed regularly. Part of this is ensuring the client understands how each individual session fits into the" bigger picture".
I will "go that extra mile" i.e. I take a client's results personally.
Previous work experience means that I am particularly able to ensure motivation levels remain high and all sessions, although tough at times, will be enjoyable !
