Throughout my three and a half years of coaching I have worked at many different gyms, along with hundreds of different people, with lots of different goals and movement capabilities. During this time I also studied a bachelor in P-12 education, however, during that period I realised that I enjoyed being a trainer more. I know this because whenever I see my clients make progress towards their goals, and the joy it brings them, it makes me want to create that same feeling for many others. Many of my clients range from strength and performance athletes to those who want to improve the way they look and their quality of life. Training doesn’t have to be a chore. I firmly believe that you should enjoy each workout even when it gets hard. Commitment, consistency and accountability is required to fully reap the benefits of training. Not just for the short term but for life. Growing up I played lots of competitive sports ranging from aussie rules footy, basketball, swimming, karate and golf. After many years of competing at high levels my body eventually couldn’t handle the load I was constantly putting it under and received my fair share of injuries. I tore ligaments in my ankle and dislocated my shoulder, just to mention a few. This period was the worst, and I couldn’t stand sitting on the sidelines helpless. I made sure I was completing my rehab everyday at any chance I got, while also getting into the gym to build up my strength, muscle and my aerobic capacity, so I can return fitter and stronger. After a lot of rehab, and set backs I eventually returned after 14 weeks and won the grand final. These tough periods made me realise how important it is to be consistent with training and taking care of your body and mind throughout the whole year, rather than going through spurts of coming and going as I did over pre-season and during the season. I am currently an active powerlifter, with multiple local competitions and national level competitions under my belt. Strength training is what lead me towards powerlifting, I loved the idea of lifting heavy, bulletproofing the body and mind while gaining more muscle.
- By setting short term and long term goals that will provide the framework in order to achieve these goals.
- Supporting clients when it gets tough
- Accountability towards training
- Consistency in training programs and sessions
- Educating each person in the fundamentals of training and many principles that follow
- Nutrition help if needed to help manage, lose or gain weight
Nutrition is super important as food provides the body with energy and in order to achieve your dream body we need to understand how the body responds to consuming too much energy (weight gain), too little energy (weight loss) and just right (weight maintenance).
Training frequency is key as well as we want to be targeting our all our muscle groups every week for optimal results
Training intensity as you progress, intensity needs to slowly get higher for improvement
Most importantly consistency, this is the most important as the longer the period of time we are training the more results we can obtain
I love being able to make a positive impact on each individuals life whether it is small or big. Being able to socialise and form a relationship with each individual that i train.
I want to motivate and inspire you to take control of your health, build strength and confidence within your life. So you can live it freely with the absence of self-projected doubts, perform at the highest level possible and enjoy the process!
What separates a good coach, and a great coach is the values and expectations that are set, but also the relationship that is built between coach and client.
I can be your best mate and have a laugh but I will also be the one to push you past your limits when you think you’ve reached them.
Accountability, sustainability and adaptability are some of the main things I focus on to ensure you are achieving your goals.
It doesn’t matter what your goals are, we will work hard together to get there!
