Anna Haynes Counselling and Coaching

Gestalt therapy offers scope for creative expression work, particularly where words feel not enough, or indeed, too much. My approach recognises each person brings their own unique and individual experiences to therapy. I work with a very wide range of issues such as depression, anxiety, anger, bereavement. I work with self esteem issues that are often brought about through bullying, undue parental criticism, and other adverse childhood experiences. I have a particular background in working with women who have experienced abuse and trauma that includes physical and sexual assault and I have worked with individuals working through substance abuse; and also for several years, now, I have worked with women dealing with being trafficked and sold into modern day slavery. I believe in the power of compassion and non-judgmental listening. You don't have to face your struggles alone - I'm here to walk alongside you on your journey, from a nonjudgemental position helping you make sense of your experiences and the world you have lived in. If you're feeling overwhelmed, confused, or anxious, know that you're not alone. It's understandable to feel scared, depressed, or sad, and it can be difficult to know where to start on the path towards healing. That's why I offer a warm and supportive therapeutic space where you can feel heard, seen, and understood. I am fully insured and a member of BACP. About me I trained at The Gestalt Centre in London and this provides the underlying theoretical and clinical approach to my work. Additionally I have attended training work on Mindfulness which has some particular benefits for those who I Coach. Through my experience and involvement with therapeutic yoga and body work I have encouraged breath work with my clients, where appropriate. All this provides a range of unique and powerful tools for exploring and processing emotions, gaining insight into patterns of behaviour and thought, and fostering personal growth and transformation. Previous to my work as a therapist I have worked in a variety of industry and commercial settings. This has included managerial positions as well as working my way from warehouse operative to line management and data analyst. I have an international background that has given me a more cosmopolitan view of the world; a view that recognises the value of differences, but also the prejudices that can come with that.

What do you love most about your job?

The privilege of witnessing my client's progress. I don't believe that there is such a thing as small progress, but rather everything is relative. Someone who managed to make it out of bed whilst battling depression is just as successful as someone who reached their therapy goal to be more confident. Someone's success of getting a job is just as valuable as someone's who finally reached a dream position.

What inspired you to start your own business?

In counselling there is a notion which says that you can not take anyone where you haven't been yourself. I leave it to you to paint a picture. Vast life experiences took me where I am now, and for me success it to witness my client's goals in Counselling or Life or Career Coaching taking shape.

Why should our clients choose you?

Compassion is at the forefront of my services, paired with vast academic and life experience, and a genuine desire to see everyone succeed. Everyone deserves to have someone in their corner.
