We want to Thank our trainer Louis, for helping us with our dog, LeRoy. Louis was very polite and talked us through the instructions before taking LeRoy outside. We couldn't believe how quickly LeRoy responded to his, then our commands. The training was scheduled for 3 hrs. but, LeRoy was listening and obeying within 2hrs. Before this training LeRoy wanted to attack every dog he saw, during the training he obeyed our commands AND we were even able to walk to the Boardwalk with lots of people and dogs, LeRoy sat and let the other dogs walk right by him. We cannot express how GRATEFUL we are having Louis come and help us give our dog a better life. FYI; LeRoy is 8 yrs old so, it's never too late to help yourself and your pet Enjoy a better time outside. Next steps is taking LeRoy to a dog park and allowing him to make friends. Louis, told us we can reach out with any questions which, really means a lot to us. We believe Louis is one of the best things that has happen in our lives with LeRoy. Thank you very much definitely worth the money!

If it were possible I would give 100 stars to Precision River K9 Training. In the middle of 2019 we suffered the loss of our older cocker. This loss left our younger cocker, Pebbles, very anxious. This anxiety created bad behaviors such as barking at children and people wearing hats (even though she was familiar with them). She had also become skittish to many things and sounds that had not bothered her before, but now have become a problem.
Prior to signing on with PRK9, we looked at other companies that were similar however we just did not get the right vibe from them. When you are going to entrust your fur baby to someone, you want to make sure it is the right fit. Sarah, owner and head trainer of PRK9, came highly recommended by a close friend who had just had her puppy complete the two week board and train. Getting a recommendation from a trusted friend, who has utilized the service, speaks volumes and adds more credibility. We had used other training methods and local trainers in the pass with our other dogs, and had some terrible experiences which made us apprehensive to try another trainer. However, after a few conversations with Sarah we knew she was the trainer for us and signed Pebbles up for the two week board and train.
Before receiving Pebbles for the two weeks Sarah thoroughly explained the whole training process including using the e-collar and crate training. I have had dogs throughout my life and have never believed in crate training. However, Sarah put us at ease and explained the benefits of utilizing the crate.
Prior to Pebbles going away she did know a few commands however, she did not hold them and would get distracted. So upon her return we were eager to see her transformation not only with her anxiety but with commands. At first sight we immediately could see a positive change. She looked happy and more confident. Sarah spent time “training us” on the commands and showed us what Pebbles had learned. It was incredible to see what she had accomplished in two short weeks! Pebbles is no longer skittish to things and sounds that had bothered her or even more AMAZING, she no longer barks at children or people with hats, she actually is calm and welcomes their affection when they approach her. Now every morning I look forward to finding new places and doing new fun things with her to continue her training.
Sarah has been a blessing. Having someone who has so much experience (20 years plus), knowledge and an exceptional work ethic was a benefit. She is always willing to answer any follow up questions or just reassure us that she is there if we need her. It is obvious Sarah loves what she does and she should be proud of all the happy, confident dogs she and her team have produced. I have nothing but high praises as well for Sarah’s highly qualified trainers that assisted in the training of Pebbles; Bear, Lorena, and Shyanne. I highly recommend Sarah and her awesome team for all your dog obedience and training needs.

Born and raised in China and pursued a Master Degree in Statistics in California. From negotiating a 15% raise at a bay area startup to just quit a month after to start her dog training business. Grace Henke is the #1 Taiwan Dog training Expert in US, and an anti-obedience fearful-dog expert. We've just had one session with Grace so far, but I am already thrilled with the results. Our dog Jodie is scared of most strangers and can be territorial in our home. We love to entertain in our home, so this has been a problem. Jodie has growled at people, tried to nip at people, etc., so we just stopped inviting people over for a while.
When Grace came over, she gave us some simple techniques to stop the behaviors we weren't happy with. While simple for us to do, we never would have come up with these techniques on our own.
We had a dinner party last night with 6 people and didn't know how it was going to go. We tried out the techniques Grace taught us and Jodie was AMAZING. She just slept or relaxed near the table while we ate. I am so thankful Grace helped us. We got immediate results and get to continue living our lives again.

Words cannot describe how grateful my husband and I are to Marianna and her expertise in helping us train our Coton de Tulear puppy. My puppy Cecil is 4 months old and we have so many travel plans coming, my husband and I had to cancel our trip because Cecil would be extremely anxious sitting in his travel carrier. We were so stressed about future travel plans and felt unsure if Cecil would ever be able to come with us on our adventures.
After contacting Marianna over that weekend, she quickly cleared her schedule to accommodate us early that week, and slowly Cecil not only sat in his travel bag but now we use it in the car as well. Not only that, Marianna would always come back if we only used half a session time, to use our time on another day, without ever charging additionally!
Additionally Marianna helped improve his leash walking, helped with commands, and was so kind to let us borrow her kennel for training. I really am so grateful for her professionalism, services, and everything I learned in this process. I’m so happy I worked with her! If you are on the fence about dog training and are in the SJ area, please contact Marianna she is phenomenal 🤍🤍🤍

Dogs in Harmony is amazing! We adopted our 5-year-old rescue dog, Dunkin, in December, and he was very leash reactive to everything, but especially other dogs. Dunkin did a few drop-off sessions with Shanni because of COVID and she helped us understand so much about who Dunkin is as a dog and how we could help him feel confident and comfortable with us as his new family. She connected us to a great vet behaviorist who helped us immeasurably and then we began Zoom training sessions with Shanni's colleague, Diana. Diana is an incredible, knowledgable trainer who obviously loves dogs so deeply. I could feel her love and pride for Dunkin through the screen as he learned more each week! We learned so much from our sessions with Diana and went from a family who stayed at home with our dog 24-7, scared to take him out into the world, to a family who can now confidently take leashed walks with a dog who listens and pays attention to us! Our training sessions have helped us build a loving relationship with our dog and troubleshoot any behaviors that came out as we got to know him better. I highly recommend Shanni and Diana and Dogs in Harmony. They know so much about dogs and positive reinforcement training and they also love dogs so deeply. They will love your dog right along with you and help you become the best owner and companion for YOUR dog. I am so grateful for them.

Our Philosophy - There are a multitude of training styles, methods, and philosophies out there, all of which have their pros and cons. Our philosophy is simple. It takes a balanced technique to create a balanced dog. As in any relationship, good communication is essential! Your relationship with your dog is likewise hinged on your ability to understand your dog, and for your dog to understand you. By establishing an effective line of communication between ourselves and our dogs, we are able to change the conversations we have with them. The goal of our training is to create happy and confident dogs who know what we need from them and are happy to be part of an improved “working” relationship with their families. We also believe that all dogs are designed to be productive and task oriented, or, in other words, they need a “job” in order to feel balanced. By engaging our dogs mentally and teaching them to process information, perform desired behaviors, and use some impulse control, we are able to give them an incredibly valuable outlet to channel their energy into being productive. Our Trainers - Every member of our Dog Wizard team is extensively trained and experienced in a broad base of training techniques and behavior issues, which allows us to capably address a wide range of training needs. We see each dog as a unique case and work closely with the owners to create a training plan that satisfies each dog’s needs and helps the owners reach their individual goals. We also believe that the success of every dog is linked to the owner’s ability to work effectively with their dog. We specialize in transferring all of our skills to each member of the family as needed, and uphold our commitment to the success of your dog through our lifetime support classes. What we love most about our job is the opportunity to transform both dogs' and owners' lives. It's incredibly rewarding to help a dog overcome behavioral challenges that might have otherwise jeopardized their place in a loving home. Knowing that our training can keep dogs out of shelters and in the arms of families who love them is what drives us every day. We also love seeing the bond strengthen between owners and their dogs as they learn to communicate effectively and enjoy a balanced, productive life together. There’s nothing more fulfilling than seeing a once-unruly dog become a well-behaved, happy companion, and knowing that we’ve helped both the dog and the owner reach their full potential.
Our inspiration to start The Dog Wizard stemmed from a deep passion for improving the lives of dogs and their families. We were motivated by the alarming number of dogs who end up in shelters due to behavioral issues that could be resolved with proper training. We wanted to create a space where dogs could reach their full potential and remain with their loving families. Our goal was to offer a professional and compassionate approach to dog training, emphasizing the importance of effective communication and a balanced training philosophy. By providing personalized training solutions and lifetime support, we aim to empower dog owners and create happier, more harmonious relationships between them and their pets.
Clients should choose The Dog Wizard because we offer a comprehensive, balanced approach to dog training that focuses on both dogs and their owners. Our philosophy centers on creating happy, confident dogs through effective communication and mental stimulation. We understand that each dog is unique, so we provide personalized training plans tailored to meet individual needs and goals.
What sets us apart is our commitment to the success of every dog and owner relationship. We not only train dogs to exhibit desired behaviors but also coach owners to become skilled, confident handlers. Our lifetime support classes ensure that clients have ongoing access to guidance and support long after the initial training is complete. With a team of experienced trainers dedicated to both dog and owner, we help create lasting, positive changes that enhance the quality of life for both pets and their families.
At this time, we do not offer online or remote training services. As a mobile business, we bring our training directly to your location, allowing us to work in your dog’s familiar environment. We can also meet in dog-friendly public spaces, such as parks and stores, to provide training in varied settings. This hands-on approach helps us address behavioral issues more effectively and tailor our training techniques to each dog's specific needs. We believe that in-person, on-site training provides the best results for both dogs and their owners.
To ensure the safety of our customers during Covid-19, we have implemented several precautionary measures. Our team follows all recommended health guidelines, including maintaining social distancing, wearing masks, and practicing good hand hygiene. We also disinfect our training equipment regularly to reduce the risk of virus transmission.
When conducting in-person training, we prioritize outdoor settings or well-ventilated areas to minimize the risk of exposure. For clients who prefer additional safety measures, we can discuss and accommodate specific requests to ensure everyone feels comfortable and secure.
Your health and safety are our top priorities, and we are committed to providing a safe and effective training experience for you and your dog.
