My son is a continuing student with Mrs Inga and he has learned a lot since he started. The classes are fun, interactive and suitable for his age and he enjoys them. But most important, there is always a balanced amount of challenge for improvement or acquiring a new technique. Thank you, Keys for Kids!
My lessons are tailored to each student's strengths and interests. I will include instruction that leads to success in your own personal musical interests, and find appropriate exercises and repertoire for these. After each lesson, I will send practice instructions and additional resources to prepare for the following lesson. These include warm-ups, reviews, and practice exercises/repertoire with notes to help approach practicing. After the first lesson, students (and/or guardians) will be given access to a private google classroom with all lesson information. This is where weekly practice instructions, additional resources, and other information will be posted, as well as where you can confirm or cancel/reschedule lessons.
My goal is to create a safe and positive environment for students to learn and enjoy their instrument. I teach students with little to no experience. I look forward to working with you!
My favorite part about teaching lessons is being able to share something I have a passion for, and seeing others excited for it as well. I enjoy teaching adults because I can help them achieve what is usually a life-long dream. I enjoy teaching kids because I can see their potential, and hope they'll find passion from what I share with them. All in all, I enjoy being able to share my abilities and dedication with my community, in hopes I can inspire someone else.
My grandfather had always wanted to learn piano, and when he got sick and had to stop working I began to teach him. Being able to bring him so much joy and sharing my interest with him and others is what started my path down teaching. Now I am teaching private lessons full time and look forward to sharing more music!
I always try to find what will suit each individual student best. I know that there are many ways of learning, and some people respond better to certain methods than others. Typically at a beginner's stage, I don't start with teaching entire pieces, but I always try to keep whatever music or exercises we do interesting, as a way to keep the student engaged. I never teach two students the same way, because everyone is different and has their own way of learning.
Unfortunately I do not offer virtual lessons. Especially for younger students and beginners, I find the best musical education comes from an in-person experience, and I support many of my lesson plans with kinesthetic activities.
