Wow that is a broad question. There is no single secret as it is a combination of professional knowledge of your environment, shooting conditions and comfort of your client. I am a professional who understands what it takes to make or not make a photo happen. I understand what makes things sharp and others blurry, when the conditions are not favorable and should be rescheduled (outdoor settings) and I am great with people including children.
What are the photos going to be used for? Online viewing for social media or actual physical prints to display proudly. How long do you expect your event to be and what can I do for you to best suite your requirements. Are there any special conditions I need to be aware of (divorced parents not getting along, special needs persons etc).
I am not a rich man. I make enough to support my family and I feel that not everyone can afford a professional quality at the exorbitant prices other photographers charge. I do not understand the price scheme for new photographers who feel they are worth hundreds of dollars an hour when all they do is take fifty photos to get one good one. I am currently editing two weddings of 650 photos each and I have only found 12 bad photos that I would not be okay with. Shoot every photo like you meant to. Get creative when time allows and don't steel the show. My greatest reward is working with preschoolers and following them through school, college and then their wedding which leads to their family portraits. That is my greatest reward and everyone knows how happy that makes me.
I started at 15 years old as my family had a wedding catering business and a bakery. I purchased Accent Photography from a retiring photographer when I was 16 and I never looked back since. Photography is my career and my love.
I believe what I mentioned above says it enough but in a nutshell. Great quality images, outstanding people person with a attention to the little details and a price that would amaze most that have price shopped already and by the way, I don't believe in perfect websites with someones one in a thousand photos to post. I prefer to show you links to current shoots so that you can see my current and real work. Not anything that is staged or borrowed from the internet (that one really gets me).
