I cannot recommend them enough. They are, hands down, the best dog walking service in eastern Fairfax Cty and Alexandria. The employees are polite, friendly and wonderful with my dog. My pup is EXHAUSTED at the end of his 30 minute walk--which is the whole point of it. They always follow the rules (which I can't say for other dog walking services.) They send me emails with a photo after the walk. I call them PROOF OF LIFE receipts. They crack me up every time and, you know...it's a boost when you're trapped at work and realize that you don't have to worry about your pet. They've never let me down and have helped me when I've been delayed back from a trip or work has unexpectedly sent me out of town. These guys are the best--so much so my husband and I even considered getting another dog b/c we knew we had a great company to back us up.

I wholeheartedly recommend pets are family and Theresa! Theresa has been so fantastic with our elderly cat and our crazy flexible schedule. Have used her for over a year now, and she has always been super professional, kind, and extremely responsive. Pets Are Family is very well run as well. We recently had a family emergency, which had us leaving town with less than 24 hours notice. PAF not only accommodated us, but when we had to change our plans from one week to two weeks and finally to three weeks out of town, they accommodated every change with no issues. We could not have dealt with our emergency without them! PAF sends daily reports with pictures and details, so that you never have to worry about how your pets are doing. They will even get packages from your porch, water your plants, or get your mail if you need them to. I cannot say enough great things about Theresa and Pets Are Family, we are so lucky to have found them!

I think our cats miss Heather.  We were out of town for 10 days and engaged Heather and her assistant Jessie (Heather was going to be out for a few days) to come to our home daily to feed and care for our cats.  A few days before we left, both women came to our home to meet us and get acquainted with our pets. (There is a small additional charge for this but it is completely worth it.) They were so engaging that even our most reclusive fellow was putty in Heather's hands.  We left town absolutely confident that all would go well. While we were away, we got frequent detailed reports on the visits. Not only  were our pets well cared for,  Heather and Jessie played with them and gave them lots of affection. We were so surprised when we came home to find more handwritten notes of the visits and two adorable photos of each cat.  I am so happy not to face the guilt of boarding and instead return home to two happy, non sulky kitties. We could not be more pleased with Pet-Purrfection - a very appropriate name for a professional but very caring service.
