I am a Narrative Therapist, but my goal with any individual(s) I work with is always focused on what works for them; I consider my job to be assisting others in finding their way to a more preferred version of themselves. I truly enjoy the privilege of working with people of all walks of life, and consider each client and their positioning in our world so that I can tailor my understanding to the specific client(s), who will always be the expert of their own story.

If you’ve tried other therapies and they haven’t worked, depth psychotherapy is what I offer. It is a way of attending to the symptoms you may be experiencing as calls for your attention, not as something wrong with you. Often these calls are rooted in things that haven’t yet been considered and looked at. Through the “not-so-easy” task of diving into them, my clinical experience has shown me that people start to live fuller, more authentic, lives.

We live in a world that often feels like it’s managing us instead of us managing it. This can leave you and your close relationships feeling overwhelmed, pressured, and loaded with lots of expectations from others and yourself. Wellness coaching and therapy can help you discover ways to better identify, overcome and manage the obstacles that get in the way of your relationships, career, and within yourself.

I've been inspired by the community service Dr. Kashersky has been a part of within the LGBTIQ, healing arts, and environmental health communities. I was thrilled to learn that she mentors high school students in her practice as they volunteer to assist in the youth building connections social skills classes. Her scholarship program grants select and dedicated volunteers recognition and support to pursue their higher education goals. Blessings

I have been a client of Steve's for approximately 1.5 years for individuals therapy. Although he is the seventh therapist I have attempted to connect with in the past ten years, Steve is the most customized and intuitive that I have encountered. I don't often reflect on all the ways I have changed because of my therapy with him, but reading through my older journals last night, the transition is blatant.Despite psychology being what I call a "soft science", his philosophies and hybrid methodologies are formed on the basis of independent research and scientific investigations. He is realistic about people/society and how an individual can address those challenges with emotional acceptance ("self-compassion"), expression of what he sees in his client as an individual, and identification of habitual thought processes that lead one to jump to conclusions without having enough data. I think this realism is a part of why I trust Steve as my therapist. An additional aspect that I value is his investment in his clients. He remembers details such that minimal reiteration is necessary, he is patient with insecurities, anxieties, and nervous behaviors, and allocates time to ensure the comfort of his clients during what is inherently an uncomfortable process. He also occasionally sends articles and book recommendations that clearly reflect his awareness for an individual's situations, fears, and challenges. In short, he isn't just going through the motions. He is truly invested in those who are willing to work hard, are open to change, and are willing to trust him to help with that process.Through the mindfulness and techniques I learned from Steve, I have been able to reduce my medication for depression and anxiety to half the original dosage. That isn't intended to be self-praise, but it is evidence that my ability to cope with what some may call a stressful lifestyle has been altered as a result. I do not see any other variables that would be responsible for that change. I cannot fully articulate the impact he has had on my life in a Yelp review, but I am 80% certain without his guidance, I would have lost my job and still be stuck in the perpetual paralysis that comes with anxiety and depression.Therapist-client relationships are a type of chemistry, and what clicks for some may not for others. If you are seeking someone who tips their glasses at the end of their nose and asks, "How does that make you feel?" after every soliloquy, he definitely isn't right for you. But for someone like me, who is looking for an intuitive, invested, and proactive therapist, then I might encourage you to talk to him and see what you think for yourself.

I have known and worked closely with Dr. Miller for many years. She is a skilled and understanding clinician with wonderful diagnostic skills. Additionally, her communication of findings to patients and their families reflects a wonderful ability to connect to them and deliver much information, often laced with emotional valence, in a way that facilitates understanding and acceptance. As patients are often followed over time, MANY of her patients returned wanting to be seen by her specifically, to the exclusion of other available providers. I would recommend Dr. Miller without reservation.
