We were moving into a new, custom-built home and wanted to start with a clean slate for our lower level and master bedroom. Deri brought our vision to life! She understood our taste and our goals. After a consultation and inspiration pics I shared, she came up with a cohesive, stylish and functional plan for our rooms. I was involved with every piece ordered. If I didn't love it, then she worked to find me something until I did. She was the perfect balance of listening to my suggestions, likes and dislikes as well as recommending things she thought would work and explaining why. And talk about stellar service -- Deri and her team were at our house to accept all furniture deliveries and assemble them when necessary. When several pieces had flaws because of shipping, Deri called her contacts and soon, the piece was shipped back and a new one came in so that we would be 100% satisfied. And we are! Deri is awesome at what she does and has a great eye!! She managed several projects in my home including painting of several rooms, master bedroom redesign, kitchen counter and backsplash selection, family room update, dining room update and updates in kids' bedrooms including closet re-organization. Deri works with amazing, professional contractors and stays within budget. At the completion of my project, I still had funds remaining. She will work with either a clean slate or design around pieces you have which is greatly appreciated. I highly recommend Tranquil Designs and Deri Washington! I found Deri’s website online while looking to hire someone for a color consultation in order to help select paint colors for the entire interior of my home. I was waiting on a new roof to be installed and I had new windows on order and that would need to be installed. Deri, was so very patient with me throughout the entire process. She had great suggestions during the color consultation. She really listened to everything I was trying to accomplish and the final result is awesome. The painters she recommended provided a fair price and were very nice to work with throughout the whole process. I selected Tranquil Designs based on the fact that all reviews confirmed that Deri and her team were very understanding and respectful of each person's own style - i. e., I wanted to make sure the house would look like it still belonged to me after the work was done. And it was so true ! Deri and her team were quick to understand my style and preferences, and worked with them. We bought house and desired to turn it into a lovely home. Deri was the first interior designer I contacted and after our first meeting I knew she was the right person to help us create our home. I wanted the home to focus on my two children and their rooms was most important to me. My daughter quickly developed a wonderful relationship with Deri and we couldn't be more happy with her room. Der's ability to capture what her clients desire is a rare gift. My son selected Star Wars room and he was mesmerized when he first walked into his room. The rest of the rooms--master bedroom, living room, and reading room and dinner room were left for Deri touring to life. I find myself too busy to be involved in making any selection for the rooms. I'm very happy with my master bedroom, living room and dining room. My favorite place is the reading/office. I love the ambiance in the house. Very relaxing and we utilize every space. We got a house and Deri turned it into a home. I'm look forward to using Tranquill Designs to design our dream custom home in the near future. Deri worked on bringing life to my downstairs living area. I was unsure of where to start and she helped create phases of the project that worked with my budget. She was honest, professional, and ALWAYS followed through. I never felt that we were wasting time. She always got right to the point and seemed to know my taste right from the beginning. She is good at reading people and applying this to your design. I loved working with her specialists (electrician and painter). Despite moving into our new home a few years ago, we hadn't done much decorating and our home just didn't have that "homey" feeling. We finally decided it was time to decorate our downstairs living area and master bedroom. Thankfully, we found Deri and she and Kyle were absolutely wonderful and fun to work with! Deri and Kyle were awesome to work with. We just moved to NC and met Deri at a home show. We met at our house for a 1 hour consultation and she had an immediate vision that we ran with. Deri is very committed, adaptable, and has great attention to detail. I always challenged her but she'd say 'just wait until it all comes together', and she was right.
