Sadly, I can no longer give my referral to Top Dog Ranch in Broken Arrow, OK.
I have taken my dog to Top Dog Ranch 1-2 times per month, to keep up her socialization skills and provide some stimulation, for the past 18 months or so, as it is close to my home.
It was good for the first 9-10 months, then I started noticing injuries here and there. When I began bringing the injuries to their attention, after the 2nd or 3rd time, they just started segregating her and would not communicate the reason why when I continually asked for communication. She still came home with splintered and and broken toenails, which I'm sure is from playing catch and fetch (which she loves to play) in a confined area with wood chip mulch and would run into the chainlink fence fetching the ball. Also, she began barking all the time, which she had never been a barker before that (she was almost 3 yrs old when she began going). I believe that part of the problem is that they use people who know minimal to nothing about dog training and behavior for the daycare. My dog thrived at Spirit Dog Ranch where she went prior to here for a couple of years. The only reason I stopped taking her to Spirit is because it was quite a drive to get her there and then for me to get to work, in addition to the year of road construction that caused time delays, for a 60 minute oneway commute. As it seems to have gotten much worse in the last several months, we will be returning to Spirit Ranch as it is worth the drive to know there are trainers assisting with the daycare and she will be well taken care of, safe and happy (and I will be too!).
Additionally, after checkout, they email a few pictures of the morning session, which I've noticed they also use a couple of standard phrases. I first noticed this when she was segregated with pictures of just her and not in group photos with the phrase to descibe her day as seen in the attached copies of two separate visit photos, with comments that they sent, in which she is clearly alone; this has happened a few times.
I also want to note, two bright spots are she was always happy to see Erica at the reception desk (who is always welcoming with a smile), and Caitlin who used to be her daycare person.

This place used to be awesome, but since Merit was forced out of that amazing facility, it's never been the same.
In my opinion, the so-called manager has no idea or background to run a dog based business.
She was hired as a secretary and then magically shes on the board making decisions for a business she had no hand in creating.
She is taking credit for someone else's years of hardworking and I find that pathetically sad.
That place was built with love and hard work. Now it focuses on $s and it's no longer about the love of your dogs.

Stay away unless you want fleas! Dog was covered in fleas upon pick up after a short stay - NONE prior to going and treated regularly.
Took dog to the vet for treatment and immediately notified facility mgt. The response from Top Dog was that it was impossible to get fleas during my dog's stay and did not take responsibility, nor address their problem!

Took my 18 month old German Shepherd for obedience/leash training, I could not be happier with the results. We enjoy our walks together, he loves meeting neighbors, especially kids, along the way. This is the second time using them. I've had great experiences both times. This has been my go to place. They showed me where she stays, and how she is able to access the outside. We have been taking our dogs to Top Dog for the past two years and have loved the experience. We utilize their day care services, boarding, training and grooming and have never had any issues. The staff is filled with wonderful individuals who are happy and enjoy their work. A large benefit to using Top Dog is the ability to receive 'report cards' on a daily basis to know how our dogs are doing either when at day care or boarding. The report card is filled with action shots of the dogs throughout the day along with notes from the staff on how they behaved. Also, the group training sessions offered at the facility are well structured with energetic staff. Lastly, the facility is very clean and well maintained!! When you walk in, the facility is very calm and inviting. It's void of excessive dog barking and chaos. Merit and her staff at Top Dog have taken care of my sweet Murph since she was a wee pup. Every time she sees Merit, Murph lights up and gets the wiggles. We also went through off-leach training at Top Dog Ranch where Murph and I learned valuable communication skills that we still use every day. My retired service dog always has a blast going to day care. It's very rare to have a facility that the employees are certified trainers working daycare and boarding. Dogs are always being watched and are always safe. Although one incident happened this past weekend, it isn't the norm. Top dog ranch cares for dogs and always gives a report with lots of pictures so you know exactly what your dog did that day and how my dog played and which dogs he played with. My dog always comes home tired from all the playing he had done that day. My dog gets great excercise throughout the day. The facility is state of the art, nothing Tulsa or Broken Arrow has seen. I took my dog Delilah to Top Dog's puppy class and was very impressed with Merit Day. My dog got a good start to obedience in that class. She is now two years old and is very well behaved. I recently rescued a dog that's about a year old. I took her to obedience class. She's high strung and easily distracted. She's much more difficult to train than Delilah was. So I took her through beginners twice. Merit was very helpful in getting Orphan Annie under control. Then I took her to intermediate class and later I took her to tricks class. Heather is the trainer in that class and is amazing. We had a great time and Orphan Annie learned many tricks. If you love playing with your dog, take it to Heather's trick Class. As a result of her professional guidance & direction, "Bear" & I were able to complete the Advanced Obedience as well as the Canine Good Citizens Courses. Looking forward to the "tricks" Course later this month. "Bear" is a 98lb Rottweiler who loves people - especially kids. Out of all the dog training facilities in the region, Top Dog is by far #1! Even before I ever invested any money with their school, their head trainer, Mrs. Day really wowed me. I was actually quite amazed with how helpful she was from the get-go. I initially called after hearing about their school from other dog-lovers in my network and I had a couple questions and also needed some advice. She answered all my questions and even gave me some great recommendations and advice. After experiencing how helpful and knowledgable she was just over the phone, and then even by text - I knew it would be a wise decision to sign up for their puppy obedience class. And it was!The facility is extremely clean and comfortable. She and her husband were so great - not only with my hyper, untrained puppy, but also with my two young boys and myself. They definitely made us feel at home. The class was extremely informative and really made great lasting impressions in my puppy. She is obviously a natural because no matter what various problems each dog in our class displayed, she was able to immediately and lovingly correct, adjust and then fix any and all behavioral issues. I know from speaking with others who had previously trained with other places that Top Dog is definitely the best in the entire area and I plan to continue taking as many classes as possible.
