When I contacted the owner of American Dry Basement Systems and had my first meeting a couple hours later, I was put at ease by his ideas to waterproof my basement. What I admired the most from our discussion was Pete O'Shea genuinely cared about finding a permanent solution. Most importantly I wasn't introduced to some sales pitch which would have totally discouraged me from having further conversations with him. I was given a solution and a reasonable price fairly quickly. Â On the day of the installation I was met with extremely professional and respectful members of his organization. Paul S**** and his team of workers at AmericanDry Basement Systems did an outstanding job on our lakefront cottage basement, which had stains from our prior 30 year old sump pump failing last Fall and a history of other water issues. They cleaned everything to look brand new, installed French drains around the perimeter with our fairly new replacement sump pump used as a back-up at a higher level than their 3/4 hp one, draining to a new dry well through very deep lines separate from that of our softener. We had a serious problem with our basement flooding every time we had heavy rain. It got to the point where we could no longer deal with it. American Dry Basement has put two systems in for me, a condo I owned and a home I recently purchased. I live directly next to a river and had water issues in my basement that had an existing system! Peter and his crew put in a system that manages the water and keeps my basement dry. The monitoring system is also wonderful for peace of mind since I work 25 miles away from my home. I get texts the moment anything happens with my power or my system. (has never happened!) American Dry also used their special slurry to seal the walls where I had cracks and since then, NO MORE WATER. I can't say enough about Peter and his staff. My house was built in early 1930. We always had a water problem, but as the years went on it got worse. Water started coming up through the floor. I called in an engineer, who told me I could loose my foundation. I called The American Dry Basement System. They explained what they were going to do . They arrived with a full crew, and started to work. They were wonderful. They completed the task in a day and a half, cleaned everything up, and left. My basement is now dry as a bone, even after heavy storms, that would have left me with water laying in pools on the cellar floor. What a wonderful feeling to know I don't have to worry any more. I can't say enough good things about American Dry Basement as a system and as a company. I have had them put a system in my condo and now my home. Both properties are on wetlands, my house being 4 feet from a river! The basement system designed by the owner of ADBS and installed by his incredible team have kept our basement dry even on days where we have gotten 3+ inches of rain AND during a full moon when the tides bring the river levels almost even with our house. I am so pleased with my system and the dehumidifier recommended. They gave me the best pricing available and was understanding of my budget. With the crazy weather we have been experiencing in the east coast with excessive rain and storms, I still have had zero issues with water entry or dampness in my basement. The questions you're asking yourself when looking to have any work done in your home such as: Can I trust this business? Will they show up? Will they do what they said, when they said and how they said they would do it? Is the work going to be done well? Will I be happy with the results? The answer to all of the above is a resounding YES. Peter is unbelievably trustworthy, skilled and knowledgeable. I would not recommend even calling anyone else, but if you'd like to see just how good Peter's pricing is then I guess go ahead and call one of those companies that spends all their money in marketing to seem more professional. He came in to waterproof my basement in my 1949 house. We had an original plan that involved a full system with a new sump pump and battery backup and the whole nine. Somewhere along the line I discovered that my house had a gravity line already in the basement, so if it worked properly we wouldn't need all of the pump parts. Peter came back out, reassessed, tested the gravity line and then was more than willing to cut out the unnecessary parts and labor. This was the first sign that he was trustworthy. A lot of other people would have made up some elaborate reason as to why they still needed to do all of that extra work. He was more concerned with doing only what was needed, thus saving me money in the end. I can't say enough about the finished product either. Rather than some cheap drain line dug just a couple of inches into the concrete, he goes all the way to the footing to not just collect water but to actually resolve the issue. This is the only true way to guarantee to keep the water out, yet two other guys would tell you otherwise. I couldn't help but notice the reviews of those other guys' customers though a couple years down the road when people started complaining of issues. If you want it done right the first time, I highly recommend you call Peter and get the real scoop from someone not just out to make a buck. Clean, professional, guaranteed results. This is the only person you need to contact when you're tired of dealing with water in your basement or you're planning to finish your basement and want to make sure it stays dry forever. We had American Dry Basement Systems (ADBS) install a system in our entire basement several years ago. We were very pleased with their work and have enjoyed a dry basement since. This past week I was routinely changing the 9 Volt batteries in our 2 sump alarms when I discovered one of the alarm battery connectors was corroded. I contacted ADBS; my call was handled by an answering service and I received a call back from Rebecca in a timely manner. Rebecca stated she would put a new alarm in the mail for me. I got an estimate from American Dry and Value Dry and Budget Dry. American Dry had the middle price so it wasn't the lowest, but I just really trusted the inspector they sent over. He walked me around the outside and inside of the house and gave me tips on what i could do to help waterproof my basement and minimize mold and moisture on my own even if i didnt utilize their service. It ended up that I had a huge crack in my foundation and they came in and got the job done in one day for a low cost and I am fully satisfied and dry for over a year now.
