I have been in the accounting and software field for 15 years. I specialize in remote accounting and software assistance. I am a QuickBooks ProAdvisor and product specialist as well as a partner with Xero and Acumatica. I specialize in migrating data from legacy software programs to new, monthly accounting and bookkeeping, managing accounts payable and receivable and performing monthly bank reconciliations (with the preparation of financial reports). I also work with our local SBA non-profit organization as a volunteer to help small businesses when starting a business -providing guidance on how to setup to maximize tax benefits and more-and helping them to accurately set up and operate once they are established. I provide software and procedural training and implementations both remotely and on-site and set up proper accounting procedures and controls. I also work domestically as well as internationally. I love that my business is multi-faceted. I like that I can walk an entire journey with my customers. I saw that there was a niche where assistance for small businesses in the area of technical support and affordable bookkeeping were lacking. I felt that small businesses should also have more customizable approaches with regards to choosing a system and processes that meet both GAAP requirements while allowing each company to work in their own unique ways.
In addition, I have been a freelancer for over four years. It started with a desire to restore some semblance of balance back in my life. To be able to work and do what I love and leave enough time for the other more important aspects of my life like volunteering, parenting and learning. I spent approximately 10 years in the corporate sector and while I will always treasure the experience and education that it provided, I reached a precipice where I knew change was needed. I wanted to do more than just accounting. I wanted to get involved in software and technology.
So, that is what I did. I set out on my own, created my own company as a freelancer that combines accounting experience with software knowledge to be able to provide well-rounded advice on choosing appropriate packages, implementing them, training on them, providing customer support and then in most cases, continued accounting oversight. I have a very long history in both the technical and accounting field. I am certified and an industry expert in QuickBooks, Xero and Sage. I volunteer for the local SBA chapter and provide accounting related seminars to instruct on the proper bookkeeping methods for operating a business. I standby my work and am very responsive to my client's individual needs.
Separately, I enjoy a really, really good cup of French-pressed coffee. I am an aficionado on coffee and good beer. In fact, I have several customers who are coffee shop owners and beer brewers and has incorporated that into my work passion; providing those industry insights as well. I look forward to a challenge!
