I had my reception at Merrimack Valley Golf Club. The grounds are gorgeous for pictures. We had 140 guests, and the room was set up perfectly (not too crowded). Simply Elegant Catering did a phenomenal job. The food was delicious and cooked perfectly. I received so many compliments. Michele, Sam, Carissa, & Stephanie are a great team. There were no issues with communication, and they were very flexible. The planning process was extremely easy due to their experience, and they even made helpful recommendations for the other vendors we worked with. We originally contacted SEC to provide full service catering and American style food, with the intent of having another restaurant provide Indian food. However, SEC’s chef offered to make the Indian food for our tasting, and it was delicious. As a result, SEC catered both style menus. They also worked with us to develop a mostly vegetarian menu to meet the needs of the groom and many of our guests. A few of our guests actually commented that it was the best wedding food they’ve ever had.

Sam of SEC was very helpful and responsive, and his entire staff seemed eager to work with us to help make our event run smoothly and meet our wishes. And SEC’s services were very reasonably priced.

Overall, I can’t say enough good things about SEC, and would recommend them to anyone looking for delicious food with friendly service. I would also recommend SEC to anyone looking to have a not-so-traditional event, as Sam and his team were very helpful in making suggestions to help our wedding day run smoothly, and at the same time develop a menu and environment that met our diverse needs. Our wedding was last June and I am just getting to write a review, but wanted to make sure I did because we were so happy with everything about MVGC. From the initial meeting to tour the venue, we were welcomed with open arms. Sam and Michelle have a wonderful light hearted working relationship that is refreshing to see while planning a wedding. Once we saw the views and ballroom, we knew we found our venue. Leading up to the wedding day, Michelle was available to answer any questions. We had a unique floor plan we wanted and Michelle and Sam even setup the room a few weeks before our wedding to get a visual on what it would look like. The food was delicious. The time management of the day went smoothly thanks to Michelle and her assistant for the day. We had a few unexpected things happen (guests arriving in the middle of the ceremony precession, and uninvited guests at the reception) and it was handled flawlessly. I would highly recommend this venue for a couple looking for a ballroom reception, gorgeous outdoor ceremony spot, covered cocktail hour, and good value. Thanks again Michelle and Sam! More...

Michele was absolutely amazing to work with! As someone who is a classified control freak, I was very nervous going into the planning process for my wedding day. The day I met Michele I knew she was perfect for my day! I trusted her 100% and could see how great she was at her job. She was on top of every detail, very easy to work with and communicate with, and is a huge support through this stressful time. She is very organized and professional and she will make sure your day goes as close to perfect as possible, just like she did for mine!!!
PS all the other workers I had met along the way (other day of coordinators - AnnMarie specifically-, wait staff, bartenders, chefs, and even the guys that work for the regular golf place) made my day amazing. They all want the best for their brides and grooms and it shows. They work hard, they're genuinely kind, and they will treat you like royalty.

My wedding day was 90º, humid, down pouring & lighting. MVGC LOST POWER FOR THE ENTIRE EVENING & HAD NO GENERATOR! I understand you can't control the weather but MVGC was completely unprepared. My whole day was disorderly & disorganized. I was told numerous times by Simply Elegant Catering they didn't own the building and there was nothing they could do. This was the last thing I wanted to hear from the “day of coordinator".
During my initial tour I asked which entrance guests use & was told not to worry a coordinator would be outside directing guests. On my wedding day there was no coordinator, guests were using the bridal party entrance & seeing me before the ceremony. It was pouring, this is a GOLF club, but not one single umbrella was offered to arriving guests.
MVGC staff was completely and utterly disorganized. The ceremony was delayed an hour and a half as well as having the location changed multiple times. The plan for rain is to move inside & upstairs but upstairs was way too hot (NO AC) & the door to let air in was stuck shut. The ceremony took place on the deck with standing guests & NO MUSIC. During the delay we asked several times for door stoppers so we could cool down the bridal suite & received nothing.
Cocktail hour was also problematic - 2 out of 4 apps. did not get passed, guests couldn't order mixed drinks during open bar nor get ice with their water. We were made aware of the missing apps. from guests, NOT the cater. The soda guns wouldn't work & they were preserving ice for the reception. I cannot comprehend why MVGC couldn't run to a store & grab sodas & ice!
DJ (Andy- TSG Weddings) made my wedding possible -he saved the day. He ran a generator off his car to provide power for music. I cannot recommend him enough. We ordered uplighting from Andy & thank god. Our uplighting provided the ONLY lights for the reception. The bathrooms, bar & deck were all black.

We cannot say enought about Simply Elegant Catering, Michele, Sam and all their staff. From the day we booked, we felt like we were the only customers in the world. Their attention to details for our wedding reception was impeccable. The venue is gorgeous and the recent renovations have really raised the bar on the ballroom and bridal suite. This review is LONG overdue! I got married at MVGC back in March. The venue is BEAUTIFUL, Michele and Sam were so amazing to work with. Since I got married in an off month they offered a great package that had tons of flexibility in it. We also had to make arrangements to have a private tasting since the group tasting would have been too close to our date. The whole process was seamless. The views of the course from the Ballroom are amazing even in the middle of winter. The pictures came our fantastic. I could not ask for better people to work with for our special day. THANK YOU!!! Such a beautiful place for a wedding. The grounds are gorgeous, the food is absolutely delicious, Michele is a pleasure to work with! My husband and I searched 9 different wedding venues and saw this one first and after the other 8 we came back to it and booked it! We loved the outside ceremony space, the cocktail hour room, and the ballroom, it was perfect for our wedding. Michele makes you feel very comfortable and easy to talk to, she really is an expert wedding coordinator. This venue is GORGEOUS! The food was incredible (and huge portions too), and the staff were all friendly and helpful! Both our ceremony and reception were on site- everything came out better than we could have ever imagined! Merrimack Valley Golf Club was the perfect place to have our wedding reception. We chose MVGC because of Michelle. There are many other golf clubs in the area that are all similar, but Michelle really knew what she was taking about and gave us confidence that every single detail would be taken care of. She recommended vendors she really liked working with but didn't push us if we wanted to go with a vendor of our own, and she was always very responsive through the entire process.

Michelle took care of everything on the days leading up to the wedding and on the actual night of. We were in great hands, which allowed us to relax and really enjoy our reception which made a huge difference. Our pictures came out stunning because of such a beautiful backdrop and the high ceilings in the ballroom. I would recommend MVGC to anyone!

The only thing I would suggest is to not push the room limit. Initially we were planning on having 140ish people when we booked it, and we ended up having around 170. The room was a little tight, but it was because of our increased guest list! More...

MVGC offers the full package: wonderful staff, delicious food, convenient vendor packages, beautiful decor, and gorgeous views. Everything about having our reception here was easy and stress free. It is clear that Michele and Sam genuinely care about each couple that chooses to host their ceremony at MVGC. We worked with Michele and Sam to customize our cocktail hour to ensure our big Italian family had enough delicious food to enjoy. Sam ended up manning our pasta station, our guests could not say enough good things!! Dropping off our decorations was easy and convenient, as was picking them up. Michele helped us make our menu choices based on the meals we wanted but never pressured us into choosing anything we weren't crazy about. Day of staff could not have been more helpful or organized. My daughter and son in law got married at Merrimack Valley Golf Club in May 2014. He is in the military so they were planning the wedding long distance, because of this I worked closely with Michelle Ambra as the mother of the bride.

From the first meeting to tour the facility, signing contracts, the food tasting, rehearsal and wedding day itself, she was always a pleasure to deal with. The facility is beautiful, loved the fact that it was the only function going on in the building. Was so nice to know it was just our guests.

They had an outdoor ceremony on the grounds and we had a beautiful day, but also loved the fact that in case of bad weather we had a back up plan to be able to use the separate room upstairs. Many venues I looked at in the event of bad weather the ceremony would have been just on the dance floor with guests at their tables. Knowing we had a nice back up plan helped relieve the weather stress issue.

The place is beautifully landscaped, even with the late start to spring this year, I had emailed Michelle just a week before the wedding to inquire if the flower beds would be planted in time for the wedding. She assured me they would be, and they were!

The food was fabulous ( be sure to go to the food tasting hungry, lots to sample) and served in a timely manner by friendly and helpful staff.

I had booked the wedding while attending a bridal show at Merrimack Valley Golf Club, so we got some extra perks, everything that was promised to us was delivered and fantastic.

The wedding was all we had hoped for, we received many compliments. I highly recommend the venue and simply elegant catering who runs it.

I cannot imagine a better place for our wedding! It was centrally located, very clean (I'm in the service industry so this is big), and beauuuuuuutiful sunsets! The course is in great shape and my guests commented on the view calling it "breathtaking" and "a stunning backdrop" for our ceremony.
Jameson, who is the bar manager, was more than accommodating with some last minute changes and requests on my part- never making us feel like a nuciance. Service is A+ and the scenery is to die for! Fantastic pictures!!!

Sam and Michele are awesome. The food was out of this world and they even stepped up to help me get a cake 3 days before my wedding when my cake vendor backed out. Gorgeous venue! The landscape for photos was breathtaking. Michelle and Sam are excellent and have a good thing going there. All our guests commented on how their food was not dry when wedding food tends to be. They set the room up perfect like we envisioned and their staff were excellent to us and our guests.
