She works with her clients to manage their overwhelming emotions, identify the unhelpful thinking patterns and develop healthier ways of managing issues or challenges that they are facing. At Breaking Barriers we provide a safe and non-judgemental space for you to be at your most vulnerable self and we meet you where you are. To experience yourself in entirety – the messy & magical, the pain & power, the sadness & love, the fear and the courage. Personal I’m a sensitive person and growing up in the 90’s I felt like a misfit as people around me were more cognitive with focus on behaviour rather than emotions. Therefore, I felt something is wrong with me that I hurt easily! I questioned why can’t I be stronger and did try to change myself only to feel more pain. This was my motivation to study psychology and more than anything understand myself as I was confused with the messaging I received from others and what I felt inside. As I have been fortunate to experience other’s life journeys I have come to realise that all we need as humans is a validation of our experience. And that is my approach towards therapy, while I’m trained in different modalities like Person-Centred, Gottman’s Couple Therapy and Neuro-Linguistic Programming I use an eclectic approach as every individual is unique. I commit to holding your story with compassion and non-judgement. Nothing you tell me will be too much. Your whole, unfiltered self is safe here.
I believe every human being can be their authentic self by embracing their good, bad and ugly. We can live a life of purpose & meaning, joy & vitality while experiencing both courage & fear, confidence & self-doubt, calm & anxious. It is about becoming aware of these different parts of ourselves and then learning the skills to manage fear, the self-doubt and the anxiety.

I worked with Iris during a period of transition in my career. She successfully helped me find greater clarity in my direction and have confidence in my chosen path. Beyond this, Iris helped me become much more mindful of my energy and perception of limits through some very interesting and varied coaching techniques.

Yi Shan helped us understand why my partner and I were stuck in a vicious cycle. She also acted as a facilitator to bring up conversations that would otherwise not have been talked about. She helped us understand the reasons of some of our innate reactions and helped us overcome them.
