Mandy is great, very compassionate but there to train. I like her skills and techniques so the dogs seem to learn quick. I highly recommend her.

We are moving soon and won't be able to use Clever Canine for boarding anymore but we've been using them for years. Our dogs are NOT easy (anxious for one, stubborn for the other) but are both super sweet. It was such a relief taking our dogs here and seeing that the trainers/boarders loved them either way and saw past their troubles to see that they are both good boys at the end of the day. We're so sad to say goodbye but I just wanted to leave this review and encourage you all to use Clever Canine for training and boarding if you want to leave your dogs in good hands while you enjoy yourself on vacation. :) More...

I've never written a review before but she absolutely deserves 5 stars and praise! If you're not sure, she has a FREE preliminary meeting you can do with her to cover what course you'd like and what behavior concerns you. Mandy has made this whole puppy process much easier and is extremely informative. If you're a new puppy owner, you will learn A TON from her. She is very kind, considerate, and thorough. When I got extremely ill and busy, she completely understood and enrolled me in a new puppy group training class. When my automatic payment declined, she was very patient as I got my funds together. When I had concerns about my puppy's, turning teenage now, behavior she invited me to come to the building and have a talk about my puppy's behavior. Of course, she was spot on about everything and I'm working with my dog right now to correct her grumpy teenage behavior. If you have any concerns about any training method, she will offer alternatives. I HIGHLY recommend Clever Canine as Mandy is fantastic to work with and the group training is great as well! Bailey is a wonderful group trainer and has made socializing my anxious pup much less stressful. Thank you again guys! More...

Our experience with Clever Canine Dog Training and specifically the owner Mandy has been EXCEPTIONAL!! We rescued our dog that came in as a stray to a shelter in Detroit. The one year old pup had never been socialized and was reactive to strangers and had other minor behavioral issues. We attempted to do some private at home training with a couple of well-known training companies - but they all ended badly, and my family getting really stressed out. That's when we approached Mandy. We cannot say enough good things about how AMAZING Mandy has been. She has a very keen understanding of dogs as well as people's psychology. We signed up for the "Great in 8" program. Mandy, very expertly, guided us and our pup through 8 weeks of training and several offline discussions on the phone and email. Today, our pup is EXTREMELY well behaved. Mandy and her team have a lot of compassion for dogs. She always advocates for the dog and taught us how to understand our pup's mindset and provide the best care for the dog. By the end of the training, we were much more closer to our pup, and he was much more integrated with our family. We went from being stressed out every day to being a joyful household within two months - it has been miraculous to say the least!! Their day training service (day care + training) is a very good supplement to the Great in Eight program and our pup LOVED going there! I would whole heartedly recommend anyone with any kind of dog behavioral issues (or who just need obedience training) to take their dog to Clever Canine Dog training - and experience the same amazing results that we have. Response to the owner: This rating was left at 3:19 am because I was scarred from my experience with one of your trainers who abused my dog. So yeah, it's really not that "strange". You guys know exactly what happened. Years later and my dog struggles with severe anxiety and it was at the hands of one of your trainers. I spoke with Mandy in a preliminary consultation about my dog, some concerns and potential training. We spoke for 30 minutes and determined my dog was just fine. I can't speak highly enough of Clever Canine. Their trainers are literally dog whisperers who can turn the most stubborn dog into an obedient companion. My dog came into training barking his head off at every other dog and the trainer, Bailey, literally just walked over and said "Be quiet" and he stopped. I've never been so shocked in my life! Highly recommend Cleaver Canine. I brought my 5 month old lab there for the 3 week boot camp and her progress is amazing. She will heel, sit, come, go in place, stay, wait, fetch, give, release and leave it . Mandy took great care of my pup and sent me weekly updates on her progress. My 2 year old dog Meg is very hyper and destructive if not crated. So we don’t have to crate her 5 days a week while at work, we take her to Clever Canine Doggy Daycare a couple times a week. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Many of the employees love our dog and they take good care of her when we travel too. There are suites available for boarding and Meg does very well while we are away. She has many friends among the staff and other dogs. Clever Canine, keep up the good work! More...
