This review is long due. I want to give Merika and her team Zenaida a 5 plus super star. They both love your pets as much as you love your own pets. If you leave your pets with them, you can rest assured that your furry friends are in the best hands. They spend quite some quality time with your pets which include standard feeding cleaning, more importantly playing with them. They are never stingy with the love they give to your pets. They also send you pictures of every visit.  They both have worked at animal shelters so they really know how to treat your pets. They also respect the very different rules and feeding instructions each pet owner has. Zenaida is a very thoughtful and meticulous lady who is such a great lady to have. OK, so I'm not much of a Yelper, but my cat sitter really wanted a review here. Crystal is great because she takes good care of the house and the kitties, but also because when I come home, the house looks just like I left it! Other sitters have not been so considerate and in the past I have had to clean up for 2 hours after returning from vacation. Not so with Crystal. I had a great experience with City Hikes. Erica looked after my cat, Shredder, while we were out of town for labor day weekend. She sent several proof of life photos along with updates on how he was doing. She checked in with us when she noticed he was sneezing a little more than usual. Crystal is awesome! She did a great job to take care of little boy Pocky when I was away for a trip. She sent me lots of pics everyday. Merika is a great pet sitter. I had to went on a trip for 10 days and i have to leave my two kitten behind. Merika visits them twice a days, gave them medicine and take care of them so well that every day, my kittens look healthy and happy on the pictures she sent (yes, she does sent you bunch of pictures of your kittens to keep you inform). I was really happy that I found Merika and would not hesitate to ask for her help again next time I am on a trip. She is very detail and thoughtful. She did many little things that you didn't even ask her to, and you only notice them when you come back. I think she is extremly nice, she handle my kittens like she has know them since forever. I've been using City Hikes for over two years now. They are my go-to pet sitter when I am out of town. The owner Merika and Crystal have watched my cats. Both even came to my house in advance to meet my cats and get rundown of their feeding schedule. <br><br>Most recently I went out of town for a week and Crystal checked in on my pets everyday I was out of town. She provided daily photos and pictures of our cats by text message which made me feel like my cats were in good hands. I used City Hikes for catsitting for a week. My catsitter was Crystal.<br><br>Both Crystal and Merika were very responsive. Catsitting rates are currently $25/day for one 30 minute visit, $45/day for two visits, or $45/night for overnight stays. Initial consultation is free!<br><br>Merika was very professional and well-prepared for our consultation. She showed and explained relevant permits, insurance, etc, and gave us a bunch of paperwork to fill out.  Crystal sent us LOADS of photos and short video clips of our happy cat! It really put our minds at ease. Our neighbors noticed that she stayed longer than the required half hour, going above and beyond to keep our kitty company. She also vacuumed around the litterbox before our arrival, so we came to a clean house. <br><br>Overall I'm very pleased with the service and feel more comfortable taking trips knowing that they will do a great job. I rescued 2 kitties this summer, and contacted Merika about getting help for when I am out of town. It is hard to give your keys and leave your fur babies with someone you don't know, but with all the good yelp reviews, I contacted her and decided to try. Merika came to my house with Eli, the person designed as my cat sitter. I met them both, talked a little about my cats' needs and showed them around my house explaining where everything is. <br><br>After that first encounter, is as easy as texting Eli about the dates I need help. She is amazing with my kitties! She cleans and freshens everything for them and then she plays with them. Always sending an update and pictures about the time she spends with the cats.<br>Eli is a life saver! This last time I needed help I was out of the country for 2 weeks, and I was able to leave knowing that my cats were going to be well taken care of. <br>Thank you so much for all your help Eli! City Hikes is amazing. We have had both Merika and Crystal care for our cat Bandit who has abandonment issues. Crystal was here this week and was awesome! Bandit was so comfortable with her. He came out from under the bed and played and allowed Crystal to pet him! She truly went above and beyond. Filling our hummingbird feeders, feeding the feral cat that comes around, watering our plants etc.<br>I feel she truly cares about our cat. City Hikes took great care of my dog for a week while I was at a training course and had to leave him at home all day.  Crystal took him on 30-minute walks in the neighborhood and took many great pictures of him enjoying himself which she immediately shared with me after the walks.  It was great relief knowing he was well-taken care of and had some activity during the day.  She was also good enough to watch out for the other small pets.  She changed out the water for 2 turtles and offered to care for the parakeet.  Merika and Crystal were both very nice and helpful to a new customer. These guys are the best!!  I'm so happy I found them. Ellie from City Hikes walked my dogs three times a week for three months while I needed extra help. Before we agreed to use the service Ellie and Merika came to my house to introduce themselves and spend time with the dogs. They were very professional and clearly love their work, I felt confident that my dogs were in good hands. Both dogs were immediately comfortable and were happy to go on a "trial" walk with Ellie. Ellie (who is so sweet and a great dog handler) showed up every day on time and sent a update on the dogs after the walk. The dogs clearly loved their walks with her. The whole experience was great. Wow!  I am so glad to have found City Hikes Dog Walking &amp; Pet Sitting.  The first time I used their service was In April, and it was for 1/2 hour walks for my French Bulldog (Kilo), and my Bull Mastiff (Cole).  I used their complete care/overnight service last week while I was in Las Vegas, and  Merika is amazing!!  From the first time I met her, she was professional, very thorough in getting both of my dogs profiles set up, and really loves animals.  My dogs aren't the easiest to care for since Kilo is an escape artist, and Cole is a senior dog with some incontinence issues.   She cared for them as if they were her dogs--great photo's of them smiling, lounging, and going for walks--you can tell they were having a blast!  Having someone stay in your home that you can trust, is a big challenge, but I completely trust Merika.  Our home was well taken care of, she went above and beyond with our beloved dogs, and our home.  We're already booked for another trip in August for complete care/overnight service, and I am so grateful that I won't have to worry about anything!  Merika is a part of our family, and we are very lucky to have found City Hikes. Merika is amazing!  When we go out of town it's always for at least a week at a time and she texts us with daily updates and pictures of our kitties.  We have 3 very different cat personalities in our house and Merika is so patient with each of them, taking the time for them to sniff her and trust her.  On our last trip we were having an issue with our cats using the litter box.  She took the time to completely empty out both giant litter boxes, clean and refill them! I am so glad I found City Hikes; we have two dogs and one of them is young and super energetic. He was tearing up our house and needed more exercise while we are out at work! Merika set us up with Ellie, who not only comes and takes both dogs for an hour walk on weekdays, she has also stayed with them several times while we've been out of town. It's so much better than putting them in a kennel and we get the added benefit of knowing our house isn't empty. There was one time Ellie was already booked during the same time as a trip we were taking, so she and Merika connected us to Crystal. Crystal came over to meet us and the dogs one evening, and then she went with Ellie on the walks for a week before the trip so they would be really used to her. We just got back from 5 days away and are very pleased with Merika's care of our animal kingdom. We opted for (2) daily check-in's while we were away for our 2 dogs and 1 cat. Merika sent us pictures of our animals each time she checked in so we knew they were well taken care of. She was also very professional, personable, and reasonable on getting everything set up. We were looking for someone to stay in our house while we were on vacation including a walk for each of our dogs once a day.  I contacted Merika at City Hikes.  We made an appointment for her to come over and meet the dogs with one of her sitters.  She was professional and provided appropriate paperwork for her business. The sitter Erica is fantastic as the dogs were immediately drawn to her.  We've hired her four times now.   She is the best as she send you daily updates with photos for anxious dog owners like myself.  She also manages well with our large dogs - one of whom can get a bit excited when he sees other dogs. I recently went out of town for the weekend and needed care for my cats, including my oldest, diabetic cat. I was worried about finding a caretaker who would be willing to show up at 12 hour intervals and give shots! My friend recommended Merika's business and from the beginning, the interaction was professional and friendly. Merika arranged care with a sitter in my area (Jada), and they both came to meet me and my crew. Merika has a binder full of impressive credentials, and my cats seemed very comfortable around both of them. Their paperwork is smart and left me with a good peace of mind. At my request (on one of the forms), Jada texted me pics of my kitties at her first visit. One of them had even belly flopped for her! I came home to happy, well fed cats and a clean litterbox. It helped to see such a large Internet presence, great reviews, and to know they're insured, should anything go wrong. They came out for a free consultation to discuss process and put us at ease. Yes I agree she is the best. I have own animals my whole life, I am neurotic about who take care of them. Merika is the best. Merika is a life saver. We did not have a dog walking/sitting plans for our German Shepherd as we were going out of town for the weekend. One of those HELP! moments. The trip is planned, the kids are packed...the dog, what about the dog? I was freaking out. This never happened before. He is part of the family and we would cancel the trip...of course.
