Nathan Barrow

Following my graduation in the top 15 students in Victoria for VCE Music Performance in 2019, I began my teaching career at Caulfield Music Centre at the commencement of 2020, where I have been a certified tutor for over two years. My experience as a tutor includes having taught over a thousand lessons to students ranging from four years old through to adults and seniors. I also taught consistently through all Melbourne lockdowns, and have extensive experience with Zoom and Skype lessons. Outside of teaching I am a full time musician and DJ, performing regularly at venues and events and spending many hours each day honing my craft in the practise room. I have a deep passion and enthusiasm for music, self-development and people. I love forming new connections through my love of music and hope to continue to inspire other people along the same path.

What do you love most about your job?

I love the connection that is built between myself and the student, and most of all I love seeing them progress and achieve a better standard of playing than when they started. This is a very rewarding aspect of teaching for me.

What inspired you to start your own business?

I've always been driven by an intense passion for music. I also enjoy helping others and meeting new people, so I felt that teaching would be a perfect way to do all of these things.

Why should our clients choose you?

I offer an approach to the guitar that balances technical understanding with more hands-on ideas that are likely to provide the most benefit in real life scenarios, whether it be jamming with friends, playing gigs, or if you are simply looking to play along with your favourite songs.
I will attempt to provide a path which is both structured and enjoyable; both of these elements are crucial to becoming a better player.

Can you provide your services online or remotely? If so, please add details.

I have gained a lot of experience teaching via zoom throughout lockdown periods in Melbourne, and therefore am very happy to deliver lessons online should that be your preference.

What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?

Masks are worn and appropriate social distancing is practised during my lessons in person, with the option of having classes online if the client would be more comfortable with this.
