Our DJ's and Trivia hosts are fun, friendly, funny, professional, hardworking, and love to immerse audiences in the experience they provide.
What do you love most about your job?
We get to work in some really cool venues (cruise ships are our favourite!) and we get paid to make people dance and laugh!
What inspired you to start your own business?
I was working for other agencies and realised I was already providing a better service than a lot of the other DJs and Trivia Hosts they employed and I thought I want to also provide better equipment and packages too (but at the same price point) so starting my own agency was the logical step.

We ensure all our equipment is sanitised before and after use and ensure our Trivia hosts and DJ adhere to all recommendations where practical and will wear masks upon request.

Equipment included in our Standard Package
Our powerful and modern sound equipment includes club-standard speakers and DJ equipment that is powerful enough for groups of up to 250 people (more speakers can be added on request for larger events).
Sound equipment in our Standard package includes:

• Reloop Mixon 8 Pro DJ Controller
• 2x high-quality Shure Beta58a wireless microphones
• 2x club-standard Yamaha Speakers (suitable for groups of up to 250 people - more speakers can be added for larger events)
• 10 channel Yamaha MG10XU Mixer with 24 vocal effects (these effects are excellent for karaoke and 7 of the channels are free for extra microphones and instruments to be plugged into)
Presentation is everything! The right lights can make or break a party, so we offer three options to ensure you get the right look, feel, and effects for your event.
Lighting Option A: Modern and Stylish (NEW!)
This lighting option is perfect for events that need a modern look, corporate events, or venues with limited setup space.
These lights are also ideal for events that photography is important at (i.e. Weddings) as this option doesn't use lights or lasers that put coloured spots and dots everywhere.
Lights in the Modern and Stylish option include:

• 6x Synchronised wireless LED Lightbars with hundreds of colours and patterns
• 8x LED Venue Uplights (let us know what colour you'd like them set on)​
• Smoke machine if requested and your venue permits​.
Lighting Option B: Retro Disco
This lighting option includes all the lights from the Modern and Stylish option as well as our modified disco gigbar lighting rig that features lasers and additional dancefloor lights. This option is perfect for retro/throwback events or events where you want to be dazzled with as much lighting as possible.
Lights in the Retro Disco option include:

• 4x UV Blacklights
• 2x PAR LED Lights

If you want to be dazzled by all the lights and all the effects then this is the option for you! It includes all lights from Option A and Option B and is just $49.00 extra on top of the total event cost.
Please be aware this lighting will put coloured spots and red and green laser dots everywhere, so it may not be suitable for Weddings and other events where photography and videography is important.
Also included:
• Your own login to our music service so you can put together your perfect playlist before your event or add songs on the night.
• Free 1 hour setup prior to event and 1 hour pack-up after the event.
This package suits groups of up to 250 people for any event and any occasion.
Comedy Trivia Package
Want some fun and funny non-musical entertainment?
Our comedy Trivia could be perfect for you!
We supply all the equipment and materials, create the Trivia, and have one of our comedy Trivia Hosts run the game for you and your guests.
How it Works:
For Trivia events only, our audio visual equipment consists of one or two 12" Yamaha speakers (depending on venue size), two tall and colourful wireless LED Lightbars that stand beside our Host to give the Trivia a 'TV game show' feel, a phone for playing our audio sample questions wirelessly, a microphone, and our questions sheet - we barely take up any space at all!
If we are also DJing and/or hosting Karaoke at the event then we will conveniently use our DJ/Karaoke equipment that we already have setup for that - yes, we can provide up to 3 different services with our amazing lighting and sound equipment!
Our presenters are completely self-sufficient, they bring all the supplies needed by Trivia participants (including the pens, answer sheets, and picture round sheets) - all you need to provide is a single electrical outlet, enough tables and chairs for the participants, and the prizes (ask us for recommendations). If it's a public pub Trivia night our Host will walk around your venue before they start, putting together impromptu teams of customers that will then stay on to eat and drink while playing in the show.
Trivia Format:
At Friendly DJs and Trivia we usually present a classic paper and audio-based pub-style Trivia format as it's accessible to all ages, party styles, venues, and spaces.

Trivia sessions can be customised to your events needs and can be anywhere from 30 minutes upwards.
​
To give an idea of format, a 2 hour Trivia session usually consists of the following:
​
• Four rounds of 10 questions
• One printed picture round (e.g. guess the celebrity face, guess the location)
• One music samples round (15 seconds of a song is played and players have to guess the artist and song title)
• One 'hands up' bonus round, where all players are asked questions and put their hands up for a true answer or keep their hands down for a false answer. This continues until all all are eliminated and one winning player is left
• One 'running date' bonus round (e.g a date-based question like "when was Cadbury founded?" and one player from each Team has to write down their answer and quickly bring it up to the Host and then go back to their Team to write down a new guess if they're wrong)
Recommended Trivia Duration for Event Type:
• 30 Minutes (1 round) - Birthdays and weddings where the questions are about the special person/s. Corporate session where the questions relate to the company and/or its employees.
•1 Hour (2 rounds, 2 bonus rounds, picture round, music round) - Corporate events - Corporate conferences - Birthdays for trivia lovers - Networking events
• 2 Hours (4 rounds, 3 bonus rounds, audio round, picture round) - Weekly pub/restaurant/club Trivia nights - Corporate conferences - Networking events
