MusicZon is founded and run by musicians, DJs and technicians and we love to run parties and events. We are equally at home running a small house party with a handful of guests, to a large wedding and beyond. As DJs we will provide the right sound and lighting setup to suit your venue, number of guests and party theme. We have sound systems from a few hundred watts to 50,000 watts and so are equally at home playing at small private parties right through to large outdoor events. Our lighting is fully controlled by the DJ desk and so we can theme our lighting and the sequencing to the mood of the party as well as fit into your party colour theme. For example we can transform a 200 person Marquee into a sophisticated night club or a restaurant into a fairy tale wedding reception. We have a truly massive music library covering all genres and eras. At MusicZon we aim to provide a complete and bespoke service and are fully capable of integrating live music with DJ and background tracks. Or to provide full mike support for a conference, awards ceremony and so on. We have live mixers from simple 8 channel to 64 channel hybrid professional desks. We can also provide monitoring and back of house mixing as required. Over the last few years MusicZon has extended our ability to providing a full decorating, event planning and setup service. As such we have run themed events based on Casino Royale (including a real Aston Martin), Grease, Masquerade Balls and much more. We have also planned and run many weddings and other complicated events. On the boring side we have £10 million in public liability insurance and our equipment is PAT tested and inventoried before each gig. In short: It's your party and MusicZon will help make it special

What’s the secret to keeping a party dancing all night long?

The most important thing to make a party successful and that includes having people enjoying themselves both on and off the dance floor is to know our guests. This is why for most events, weddings and parties we take the time to meet the celebrants, understand the make up of the guests and what they like and don't like.

How would you describe your ‘style’?

Our DJs have a variety of styles and we try to fit the style with the party need. Neville, our founder, is very interactive and will spend time speaking to the guests during the early stages of the party whilst guests arrive, or as the food is served etc.

Our DJs are very open and welcome the guests coming and speaking with us. If they want an impromptu Karaoke song to the celebrant or to request a track we will try to fit it in.

We also have a smartphone app so that our guests can talk directly to the DJ from their phone if they feel too shy to come up.

We generally let the music do the talking through most parties but we are also perfectly at home acting as a Master of Ceremonies if required.

What do you love most about your job?

We all love music, running events and seeing our customers get more than they imagined was possible. So we love everything from the preparation, meeting our customers, setting up and of course playing for the event itself.

Neville, our founder, has a passion for making an event come to life through music, light, preparation and a bit of effort.

What inspired you to start your own business?

Neville started this business initially as a spin off from some work he was doing to help those who found themselves socially excluded. He used music as a way to reach out and help his friends reconnect with society.

He learned so much from these guys and always tells the business that he learns and grows from every event he is involved with.

Because we are fully bespoke then we will setup a sound and lighting system that is completely customised to your venue, decorating theme, number of guests and so on.

Can you provide your services online or remotely? If so, please add details.

Yes we can.

It has become so important to learn new ways of organising and even playing at events since the onset of the dreadful time we have had with Coronavirus. We already had a lot of remote capabilities and we have improved these.

Of course we can chat with you and video call with you to discuss the logistics and arrangements for your event.

We can setup at your event before any guests arrive and run the lighting including playing music remotely through an internet radio broadcast channel. We can add skype cameras to the setup so we can actually see your guests and their reactions. Wed also have implemented a remote smartphone app where you can request songs or any other requests direct to your DJ.

We have also created bespoke "live" mixes and recordings for some events that for one reason or another had to go ahead during the time of restrictions.

Of course, nothing really matches being there and playing for you live and that will always be our preference. But if you need remote support in any capacity then please ask. Whatever you need, if we can legally provide it then we will.

What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?

It has been so challenging for everyone during this time when we have to help keep to the rules and minimize the risks of spreading Covid-19 to you, our customers, our venues and us.

We review these following each change announced by the government.

Here is a summary of what we currently do:

- we isolate our staff if they show any Covid symptoms or they have come into contact with anyone who has tested positive
- we may decline or cancel engagements if we cannot play at them or run them safely for you and your guests
- if mikes are required for customers (for speeches, to perform, etc) then we will use our specialist UV steraliser before hadning them to the customer.
- individual mikes will be given to those needing them - so if you have three speeches we will bring 3-4 wireless mikes
- MusicZon will, if the venue is unable to do it, keep a full list of everyone attending the event to facilitate contact tracing at a later stage if that becomes necessary
- we will prepare and discuss our contracts remotely where possible. We will use video meetings, skype, whatsapp as well as email and phone calls
- if is necessary to meet then we do this provided it is permitted to do so and we will always wear masks, gloves and keep to a proper social distance
- we will encourage you to prepare example playlists with us in advance so we can hit the spot easier on the day
- we have strengthened our ability to take your playlists from spreadsheets, text documents, Spotify, Deezer, Soundcloud etc and upload the details into our DJ library system
- equipment is more rigourously cleaned before loading and travelling
- cab and loading areas of the transport will be cleaned before loading
- we will travel with gloves, masks, hand sanitiser, antiviral cleaning wipes and so on
- MusicZon staff will regularly wash hands, especially on arrival at your event and once everything is setup
- MusicZon will primarily communicate by mobile phone whilst on site
- MusicZon will make its smartphone app available for all events - this allows you to make direct requests for music or anything else direct to your dj or event organiser
- MusicZon will arrange to arrive and get everything setup before you and your guests arrive
- Only MusicZon staff will be allowed behind the DJ desk, sound control or lighting control station
- MusicZon can stream or broadcast music from a remote DJ station direct to your event or venue (although this is subject to some constraints)
- MusicZon will not start to breakdown or packup until all guests have left the event space
- MusicZon will clean all equipment before it is returned to storage

We have also invested in equipment to make it easier for us to run a) smaller events that might be necessary for a while and b) to clean more effectively. For exmple:
- we have bought some very high end small speaker systems (PA equipment) that gives us a a superb full range quality but uses less space and is very suitable for smaller events of less than 50 guests.
- we have redeployed some of our lighting so that it can also be used to support these smaller events in a an easier to setup way, taking up less space and still giving a great party feel
- we have bought some purpose steralising equipment such as ultra violet deep cleaning equipment for mikes and so on

We really feel for everyone who has lost their loves and loved ones and we will continue to do everything we can to support the government, NHS and other people to kewep everybody as safe as we can whilst we are still suffering the impact of Covid-19
