Hi, I'm Jeannette and I am a certified Spanish teacher, having completed a four year degree in elementary education and languages. I have 12+ years of professional practice. 6 years teaching at a private school and 6 years of private instruction. I am a native Spanish speaker. I have taught students of all backgrounds and abilities. My students allow me to continue learning by asking all sorts of questions which I welcome!!
I love my language and I love teaching it. There are so many ways of saying one thing in Spanish that it shows how colorful we see life. I love the challenge to motivate my students to want to learn more. Working face-to-face with my students and planning my time and classes makes it also interesting, that is why I have been doing this so long.
Having my own business makes me feel comfortable with myself and gives me the freedom to teach the way I want, which is more effective for my students.
I have experience and proper training. Experience because I have taught all levels. From beginners who never took Spanish in school but after taking my classes, have conversations with native speakers. To very advanced students who want to analyze all the nuts and bolts of the language. Proper training because I studied Spanish formally in college and I know how to explain things clearly.
Working remotely has brought me new possibilities and opportunities. I am no longer limited to teach students near the area where I live. I have expanded my services to all areas around the US. I am even able to teach when my students are abroad. One of my students travels frequently to Spain and she continues to take lessons from Barcelona! I have been teaching online for at least 6 years and I can assure, the quality of the lessons is the same in person and online. I see and hear students clearly and vice versa. I use Skype. This is an efficient platform that allows me to communicate with my students at any time or day as long as I have a good internet connection. .

We hired Theo and his team this summer for private work in Science. Our tutor was a former Middle School teacher who had a the backfround in marine biology. My boy was asking about the session every day and after was learning more on his own about marine life, dinousars, and other animals. The classes have captured his attention. I have been taking Spanish lessons with Jeannette for a few years. She is very patient and so fun to work with! She explains new vocabulary and concepts in a way that is easy to understand, and she is always so pleasant and gracious! I truly enjoy working with her and I highly recommend her Spanish lessons.

I look forward to our class sessions, unlike the days where I was filled with dread having to do math. Yes Algebra is the devils work but with Lauren’s help its way less scary. Thank you, Lauren, for your patience and making me feel that I am capable to still be able to learn even at my age.
