The Probate Law Firm

The Probate Law Firm is a law firm dedicated entirely to providing legal services in the areas of probate and estate planning. In a nutshell, probate is the a legal process that has to be done in order to get people their inheritance. For example, when someone dies, either without or without a will, their assets, such as a house, money, etc., may go to their only child. The child, will likely need to hire a probate attorney to help them take possession of the house, money, etc. This is what we do. We guide people through the legal process so that they can get their inheritance. First and foremost, we understand that if you are facing the probate process, you are likely going through a difficult time after the passing of a loved one. Our mission is to shoulder the burden of your legal issues by guiding you every step of the way. Yes, that means handling the paperwork. It means helping you and your family get the inheritance you are entitled to. But it also means giving you direct answers, keeping you informed, and providing you with an overall stress-free, streamlined probate process. Estate planning on the other hand could really be called probate prevention and is something that is done prior to death. Most people have heard of a Last Will and Testament, also known as a “Will.” We draft Wills and other estate planning documents such as Trusts, which can help people avoid probate. We also help people plan for potential catastrophic events and make sure they have documents in place, such as a Durable Power of Attorney and Living Will, so that someone can make medical decisions on their behalf in the event that they are unable to do so. And lastly, estate planning involves helping families with young children put a plan in place so that if something were to happen to the parents, the children would be protected. Our mission is to help families plan for the inevitable and then help them through the probate process if necessary. We value our clients as family members and they see us the same way. We hope to be a part of your family!

What do you love most about your job?

When I decided to create a law firm dedicated exclusively to probate and estate planning services, I had three goals in mind: 1) get results 2) provide excellent customer service, and 3) improve the lives of our clients. Probate and estate planning are difficult topics to discuss and are often hard for people to think about. I wanted to create an environment where our clients would view us not just as their legal advocate but as their trusted resource in just about anything. I believe in service and I believe that it is our duty to go the extra mile for people. So, when our clients come to us, I want them to know that we have their back.

My passion is for helping others improve their current situation. Often that means they need an attorney to go to court for them or draft an estate plan for them so they can have peace of mind that their family will be protected after they pass away. However, sometimes it means that they just need someone to listen to them and hear their story. Ultimately, all of us need help from time to time and at The Probate Law Firm, our mission is to help you get from where you are now to a place where you want to be. We are on your team!

What inspired you to start your own business?

I am a native Floridian but was raised in Knoxville, Tennessee. As a once avid hiker and backpacker, I decided to attend college at Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina to be close to the mountains and spend as much time outside as possible. While in college, I had the opportunity to spend several years working and studying in places such as Israel, Costa Rica, Scotland, and Peru. Ultimately, this love of traveling and my passion for service led me to the United States Peace Corps where I spent nearly three years in the Central American country of Honduras working to help improve the living conditions of a small community where I lived. I quickly realized that I wanted to help others on a large scale and saw the legal profession as a way to do that. At this point, I was fluent in Spanish and hooked on Latin food and the tropical climate so attending the University of Miami (Florida not Ohio) seemed like the obvious choice for law school. In 2017, I founded The Probate Law Firm and as they say, the rest is history!

Why should our clients choose you?
