Roger saw a stage hypnotist over 50 years ago put people in hypnosis and he wondered what was it about hypnosis that could be so powerful. He didn't realise at the time that the people on the stage had - volunteered - to go up, be hypnotised and entertain others by doing funny & silly things. He did more research and discovered that hypnosis had been accepted by the UK & US Medical Associations as a viable treatment/therapy option back in mid 1950's. That sent him on his pathway and he sold up everything in Australia within 6 weeks, to come to NZ to study a 3 year course in Psychotherapy and Hypnotherapy, graduating in 1980. Since then Roger has built up a wealth of knowledge and experience in all things relating to hypnotherapy and the mind. Helping people is his passion and life! He is as fascinated with it today as he was when he started his career as a Hypnotherapist. He has trained and studies world-renown trainers and others throughout his career. he doesn't rest on his laurels, he continues to add to his knowledge even now.
Sue Wood discovered hypnotherapy in 1994, through friends, and they all trained in Hypnotherapy and NLP with Roger, graduating in 1995. Roger and Sue got together that year when Sue gave her her job as a bank teller, to join Roger in his business, which became Alpha Hypnosis in 1996.
