Sometimes change will be easy, but more often, it will be slow. There are no instant painless cures. You will have to put forth time and effort. Sometimes you will be given exercises and homework to complete. Most likely, you will have to work on relationships with others as well as your relationship with yourself. My faith is integral in helping me provide the best treatment for each client and I pride myself on recognizing that spirituality is a personal, unique journey that must be respected and nourished at the clients own pace. We will develop a plan for our treatment including short and long term goals which we both agree on as well as a realistic time frame for accomplishing these goals. Periodically, we will evaluate our progress and, if necessary, redesign our treatment plan, goals, and methods. My approach to counseling is a blend of clinical techniques such as rational, emotional, behavioral therapy (REBT), client-centered therapy, and biblical techniques, relying on the Holy Spirit to lead me. My goal is to help people achieve their reasons for coming to Counseling, but also to gently point them to Jesus Christ who is the true healer and author of lasting change.
