About

My name is Steve, and I'm a guitar teacher. I've been playing for over twenty years, solo and in various bands in various styles. I've now been teaching for three years, and I absolutely love it. My focus is to give my students both the skills they need to sound amazing when they pickup their guitars and the understanding to continue to grow as musicians.

Before working with Steve, it had been about 10 years since I had taken guitar lessons or played consistently. While Steve is a great teacher overall, I've most appreciated his knowledge of music theory and his ability to explain not just how to do something, but the technicality behind it. Most of my musical background has been in classical piano, so it has also been fun to learn how to use that knowledge base to play around, be creative, and just have fun with music. More...

My daughters (9 & 12) have taken weekly lessons with Steve for awhile. He is a wonderful and patient teacher! We recently transitioned to twice weekly remote lessons and it’s been going well. Steve is able to see finger placement and hear what they’re working on as well as in person. In addition, he’s able to share with me videos or details about what the girls are supposed to be working on when they practice so I can make sure everyone is on track. More...

I’ve had a few guitar teachers throughout my 8 years of playing. Steve is for sure the best. Instead of just applying the same ‘formula’ to each new song his students want to learn, Steve goes out of his way to really know the song and use it as an opportunity to teach something new. He really knows what he’s doing. Even though lessons are through FaceTime now, there isn’t any loss in the quality of lessons besides the obvious (like not being able to write tabs). Great guitar teacher and a really nice guy. More...
