My daughter (in college) needed a calculus tutor ASAP for a test on Monday.  It was Saturday...  I emailed several tutors with no real hopes of finding someone who would be available on such short notice but at least trying my best just in case.  Joe took time out of his weekend and found someone to help us out.  The tutor, Peter, was great, and she got an A on her test.  We truly appreciate both of them helping us out and would definitely recommend South Bay Tutors.  :) More...

I knew about Joe (the founder of South Bay Tutors) through my older brother who had him as a tutor in high school. I saw that my brother was doing so well in his weaker subjects within a short time. I used joe starting out from when I was in middle school. I remember I had a very challenging algebra class and once Joe came into the picture to help, my next test was an A. My teacher was amazed of how well I improved in such a short amount of time! Through middle school and high school Joe was a great resource for helping me to understand various classes such as algebra one and two and even Spanish and essay writing.  When he was unable to help me with a subject in high shcool he was always able to match me up with one of the tutors in his network. They also worked very well for me!  Another great thing about Joe was that he was easy to get along with. He was a great listener and really pin point my weak areas and helped me get through them. I really started getting into the habit of studying where as before I wasnt motivated. In the end, I was able to study much less and achieve even better grades; all because things were broken down in ways that were easy to digest mentally. I'm now finishing up my freshman year in college and have retained many of the study habits and skills that were impressed upon me throughout my formative years. More...

I am really really bad at math, like at any level. Thank the universe I was able to find Nanea Dominguez! She has helped me tremendously with Math 80 (intermediate algebra) and Math 114 (college algebra). In high school I had gone up to Geometry so when I started college I really needed extra help. Nanea is really really patient and is just incredibly good at explaining math. She would always show me alternative ways of solving a problem as well. When my daughter was having trouble with Algebra, we called South Bay Tutors for help. Joe ( he owner) recommended Nanea, and she worked with my daughter through the end of 8th grade. Nanea was able to clarified all Algebra concepts my daughter was having a hard time with, and much more. Algebra was not a challenge once she understood it! We still call Nanea occasionally to get help with geometry. Nanea is an excellent instructor, very patient, works well with children and is always punctual. im currently a student at el camino college with different learning abilities (visual learner), i've always struggled in school due to my difference of learning and have been tutored by joey and nanea, who joey assigned me to as one of the best tutors ive had in a long time! They both have really taught me math in ways that it becomes so easy and simple for me! never had that with teachers or other tutors ive had to break it down for me like that ;). He is very felxible with the service, he gives and tries to make the best tutoring service he can give very care giving he is =) so if you are in the area part of LA in the southbay region and need tutoring and need a better understanding of the material then you should defently give this a chance to try for! I found this tutoring company to be exemplary for assistance with math classes.
