Our son has been taking guitar lessons with Ben for over two years. He has made excellent progress during this time - improved note reading, playing more advanced songs, and having a blast while doing it! Ben is always professional, patient, kind, and encouraging. When my son decided to play in the school Jazz Band, Ben helped support him by teaching him the skills he needed to succeed. The transition from in-person to video lessons has been effortless. As an older student who is returning to music (I took piano lessons as an elementary student and tried to teach myself guitar in high school), Ben has been extremely accommodating in meeting me where I'm at in my music journey with guitar. The lesson plans are perfectly tailored to my goals and learning with him has always been a pleasant, positive, and patient experience. Ben Thomas is great with kids and adults alike! I have taken lessons with him, and also have lessons for my daughter. He is super patient and knows just the right way to keep my 6-year old in check even though lessons have only ever been via FaceTime. My kids started virtual music lessons this week with Motif Music Lessons! Our daughter, 10, is learning piano and our son, 8, is learning guitar. They’re off to a great start. We already knew that Ben is a very gifted musician and figured he would be a great person to teach the kids. He works so well with them and they love learning from him. His personality fits with kids so well, and adults. He’s awesome at keeping them engaged and excited. They wish they had lessons more than just once a week! After 9 years of music lessons with Ben, my son successfully auditioned at his choice music colleges and developed a level of proficiency with the guitar that well exceeded all of our expectations.
