Services

Via virtual, telephone and other electronic means I will coach you using a behavior-based model emphasizing skill building through a progressive series of daily actions. In this way your eating habits are integrated into your lifestyle. The idea is that you will be eating well, according to your own preferences, and in a healthy and satisfying manner. Progress is assessed by regular assessments which include lifestyle questionnaires, bodyweight, and/or girth measurements. Depending on goals and preferences, your eating habits are tracked using an online tracking app. You'll also have access to recipes, as well as a food and nutrition database.

I will create a customized exercise program according your needs, desires, health history, experience, and the resources you have available. You will receive assessments and exercise programming via an online dashboard (with an app for tablets and/or smartphone). We'll have regularly scheduled virtual and/or telephone meetings to keep you on track, clarify important points, answer questions, and discuss progression. All training programs include video demonstrations, and regular email notices and check-ins. You will also perform simple periodic assessments (with instructions), as well as easily record select exercises from your routine via the dashboard. This service can be combined with the Nutrition Coaching.

I will train you in person, at the Northampton Athletic Club, NAC. Sessions are typically 45 minutes in length and include supervised cardiovascular, strength, interval, power, agility, mobility, and/or flexibility training. Your exercise routine may include the use of free weights, strength bands, kettlebells, cable pulleys, stability balls, body weight exercises, floor work, selectorized machines, and/or suspension training (TRX). An assessment including girth measurements, range of motion (ROM), mobility, body weight, muscle endurance or strength, and/or aerobic capacity, as well as lifestyle questionnaires will occur periodically to measure progress, set appropriate goals, and adjust the training plan. Sessions are scheduled on a monthly, twice a month, weekly, twice, or three times per week basis and typically on regular days and times.
Additionally, you will have access to an online personal dashboard via the MKT app. Here you may view (in text and video) and track your workout program, leave electronic notes and/or schedule virtual chat sessions with your Trainer, submit videos of exercise performance, and receive electronic “check-in” notices (for accountability).
