Little Blue Bird Events

I hate writing negative reviews but I feel responsible to warn other brides that I had a really disappointing and stressful experience with Melissa. Our first meeting and contract was proming, but she failed to deliver on many if the things we agreed to in writing. In addition, 2 days before our wedding, she sprung a surprise cost on us to hire her teenage son as an "assistant" for 5 hours of the day. We had agreed to hire him to help with daycare for 3 hours at her recommendation. She mentioned in passing that she wanted to train him to help with events so it would be helpful to have him there and assist her with other things. When she asked for twice the rate we agreed to for him, we told her that was not in the contract and had never been raised by her before. She admitted this and wrote "it was negligent on my part" and then apologized for not telling us the rate sooner, but insisted we pay him that rate or he would not provide childcare. So she sent us a new contract she wrote 2 days before the wedding. We didnt have the time or energy to find anyone else for childcare in the middle of our family wedding activities that already began so we just agreed to a new contract with her son as an "assistant" but we felt totally scammed. The day of the wedding, her first communication was that she needed us to venmo her the extra amount and "take care of that asap." At the wedding itself, she never even let us know when she arrived and we ended up doing most of the coordination with vendors. Things were incredibly awkward with her and her son. We still had a great wedding, but I wish we didn't have to go through the stress Melissa caused us. I hope to save anyone else this trouble by sharing this story! More...

Melissa is more than just an event planner and coordinator… she’s a creative , passionate and dedicated BOSS!! She never fails to get stuff done seamlessly, efficiently and her work is consistently amazing. As a cosmetologist , I’ve has the pleasure of working with Melissa and other related vendors, behind the scenes , and it’s always a honor. The Brides, Grooms and fellow wedding parties are always extremely pleased and well taken care of when it comes to Melissa and her work. Little Blue Bird Events is amazing! Melissa was a such pleasure to work with and from beginning to end. She was organized and attentive and is very insightful. She gave awesome suggestions regarding décor and meshed so well with our vendor team! Melissa and her assistants were very professional and so fun to work with! Our wedding party loved them! On the day of the wedding, we were so busy getting pulled back and forth for family pictures that she saved a plate of appetizers and boba for each of us to ensure that we were well fed! Her professionalism and enthusiasm was above and beyond our expectations as she helped direct our extensive guest list of 230 people to their seats during ceremony and reception. Furthermore, she was constantly communicating with our vendors so we could have a stress-free day. We had misplaced our cake topper during the morning chaos and Melissa somehow found it amongst the craziness! We couldn’t have done it without her and would absolutely recommend Melissa to make your entire wedding planning process an amazing and smooth experience and for your special day be perfect. I personally have never hired Melissa but I have been to plenty of the parties shes planned and can tell you there is no one more professional, understanding, supportive, and determined to make your event everything you’ve dreamed of and more. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for an event planner, never been to a party as much fun and flow so easily as Melissa’s! 10/10 service! More...

Melissa planned my wedding top to bottom over the course of several years. Covid caused several delays and Melissa worked with my vendors to get them to continue my contract and not charge us for rescheduling. My day couldn’t have been more perfect thanks to all of her hard work. More...

Before the wedding she helped with a detailed time line for vendors, to dos etc. She ran the rehearsal which was much needed. The day of the wedding went off perfectly! We hired Mel very late in the game to help plan our wedding. She was very supportive, brought on great talent, and helped us to plan for and mitigate wedding anxieties.

My wife and I asked Mel to help plan our wedding. We asked VERY late in the game, only a few weeks prior to our date. Mel was very gracious, she met us on short notice and we immediately felt better and less stressed about our process. At every step of the way Mel communicated very clearly, recommended solid talent, and kept us sane during the ceremony. I am especially grateful for her attention to my wife. This young lady (Melissa Whitney of Little Blue Bird Events) came to my rescue at a time when I thought my world was falling apart. My father had recently passed away and my mom was lost as to what to do next. Being that I was 3000 miles away my daughter in law suggested I call Little Blue Bird Events. Knowing Melissa did weddings she thought maybe she would be open to taking on my father's Celebration of Life event or at least could point me in the right direction. Contacting her in mid-June with a July 23rd date I assumed it would not be promising. Wedding season was at an all-time high due to all the cancelled weddings of Covid so one could only imagine her availability would be nonexistent. Leaving a detailed message on her phone Melissa responded the same day. Asking for more details regarding my event she requested that I give her a few hours and she would see what she could do to help. Within 2 hours’ time this young lady had secured everything my family would need for our event. She assured me that everything would be delivered the morning of and that she and her staff would be at our location to set up. From linens, to tables and chairs, tents, microphone and audio, signs for parking…..she had it all covered. The day of our event was perfect. My family had very little stress regarding the details thanks to Melissa and her professionalism. I cannot recommend Little Blue Bird Events enough.
