Proud to have a place like this in windham! Awesome people, comfortable and fun environment, and adult workouts work for people completely out of shape or athletes. Looking forward to spending a lot of time here! They're not just giving adults and kids a place to exercise, but they're contributing something amazing to our community. More...

Found this to be a great place to work out in small groups with trainers. They have 5-6 sessions each day for adults and a afternoon program for kids and athletes. My group varies from 4-8 adults with 1-2 trainers.

There is a lot of attention to technique and form. Great deal of variety in the circuits they plan for us each day combining strength and flexibility. No two days have been the same in the last 2 months.

The space is nice and open, not jammed with equipment. A modern take on the idea of a gym. You can tell that the owners/trainers are thoughtful and very much into what they do. One interesting thing is to see them apply techniques to help resolve any pains/sprains that would keep people from going on.

There is a fun and lively atmosphere. Their training philosophy is to help people work out consistently in a way that is well-rounded without risking injury or excessive soreness. I think it works well and makes a big difference.

I originally thought that Build U. was just for school aged children. However, this week I attended the 6:30 AM training session for adults. Coming from Massachusetts, my gym there offers treadmill classes, kettlebell classes, and strength classes. Build U. was fantastic because it was a combination of all three plus a big focus on stretching and mobility - an area I usually miss in a rush to get to work. I was very impressed with Nick (Owner) who ran the class. The class was comprised of adults of all ages (college through retirement) and abilities, but Nick was able to keep everyone engaged at their own level – and when I say engaged I mean SWEATING! I am looking forward to returning and strongly recommend this gym to all adults looking to get a well-rounded and solid workout in just one hour. More...

Build U is an amazing place! Both of my kids (7&10) love going. They ask to go everyday! What makes this place incredible is Coach Nick and Coach Chris. They are able to give the kids individualized help with homework in the homework room for the first part of the program. It’s structured and there is help available. They truly care about the kids. They want to know about their day at school, what they are working on socially, academically, and physically. Even though they have a group of kids each child is made to feel attended to. The staff gets to know what the kids like and dislike, their personality, their interests as well really modifying the physical portion of the program if your child has an injury or to their fittness level. In addition to all of these things Coach Nick and Chris are big on teaching respect and responsibility. They implement working as a team and implement accountability.
Build U is not only for kids. They are great with helping you through injuries. They will show you exercises and take you through personal sessions to keep you active while recovering. Nick and Chris are always willing to give you 100% to address any questions or things you would like to discuss.
Lauren at the front desk is also amazing! It’s great to know you can email or call with questions and you always get a pleasant and prompt response! This group at Build U is amazing and I couldn’t be happier with having them as part of our week! I highly recommend Build U!

I'm 56, never belonged to a gym, and thought I was in decent shape from hockey and my own workout routine (lifting/walking). But after the holidays, I noticed my clothes were getting tighter, and I became inspired to find a local gym to jumpstart my workouts for better health/appearance. I shopped the gyms in Windham, and was sold on Build U's class format, trainer ratio, knowledge and enthusiasm. My concern about the gym's commitment was quickly eased once I started the workouts. In fact, after only 2 weeks, my wife decided to join too.

I can't say enough good things about the trainers. They know their stuff, are fun to work with and inspire us to push our limits for surprising results. They also focus on stretching and mobility to avoid injury, and have techniques for addressing stressed muscles, tendons, joints, etc. I used to be a weight trainer in college, these guys have forgotten more than I ever knew, and they are less than half my age

As far as results, in only 10 weeks I've lost 2" in my waist, along with a few pounds, while gaining muscle mass. The classes unique blend of anaerobic and aerobic exercise leave me sweating, pumped and generally spent in under an hour. And I've also become aware of long-standing trouble spots that I now focus on with stretching, "rolling" and mobility exercises.

In short, I highly recommend Build U as a gym/community focused on results. You won't be disappointed!

I've been battling the 'I need to go to the gym' issue for several years now. Finally made the decision to try out the Build U facility and see what they had to offer. Mind you, I'm on week two of my fitness journey, but I will say that they have a very welcoming environment that has already pushed me to actually show up every day! From the layout, staff and other members who are in various stages of their fitness goals. Very encouraging environment and one that I have attended daily since joining.Kris and Nick are great trainers - personable, focused on ensuring that the circuit type training is lined up to your skill set all while doing so in an encouraging manner - not the 'in your face' type trainers that are out there. And I need to add - these guys really know their stuff. Amazing the difference in my core strength heading into my second week.Without question I would recommend Build U for anyone looking for an alternative to the standard gym setup, who is focused on seeing progress. I am 50 and was unsure of joining a gym.  At this point in my life I needed to do something.  I joined BUILD U and go to the morning classes for adults.  Kris and Nick are awesome.  I get a lot of cardio and have regained some lost muscle.   They are more about correct form than how much I can curl or bench.   Group classes are awesome.   Lots of fun, never thought I would get up at 5:30 am and look forward to going to a gym.   Thanks Kris and Nick!! So I was a huge barre junky and I was skeptical of joining build U because I wasn't aiming to get big or gain muscle mass. But the way they've set up the workouts is completely diverse; cardio mixed in with strength training. I got lean and saw results within a month. If your looking for the full package, and an entertaining set of instructors, this is your place. More...
