Services

Teaching pups and their humans how to live together with skills that extend beyond "obedience."

Day Training Programs focus on teaching leash walking, recall, and impulse control only. These sessions are dedicated 1:1 sessions offered Monday-Friday between 10:30am and 3:30pm, and designed to help your pup get better at polite walks, recall, and public manners. We teach all of the foundational skills used for leash walking + recall and then put them into action so that your pup gets plenty of practice. Then, we teach you how to do it too! Day Training is not for dogs who display severe reactive/aggressive/hyper aroused behavior- but minor reactivity/excitement about distractions can be worked with. We recommend doing 2 months if there is any minor reactivity.

Monthly Membership levels are offered in 2, 3, 4 and 5 day a week levels and have 30 or 60 minute session options. Additionally, each membership includes 2 use or lose half price private lessons during the month, a long line, treat pouch, and personalized homework assignments for you and your pup.

Behavior modification is used for fear, anxiety, reactivity, aggression, guarding behaviors, hyper arousal, etc... and moves beyond teaching the dog tricks, commands and physical behaviors. Behavior modification complex is heavily focused on adjusting the mindset of the dog and human, untangling complicated relationship elements, providing alternative behaviors, and teaching the dog (and their guardian) coping skills. Behavior modification also includes management of problem behaviors in order to keep the dog and others safe and comfortable.

All Ears’ Behavior Modification Programming focuses on working with an animal and guardian pair to modify behaviors of both the dog and their guardian in order to develop successful resolution and management of the unwanted behavior. All behavior modification programs follow the Humane Hierarchy and use science based methods to help achieve a successful outcome and reach a mutual resolution between the dog and family. Behavior Modification is often complicated. We wish it was as simple as calling the plumber for a clogged drain! But since it is not, we seek to find a resolution that works for the dog and their guardian. Success will look different for every case and behavior modification is dependent on the whole family being involved and committed to pursuing change.

Success with a new family member starts from the moment you begin planning to add a pet to the family. Our Adoption Counseling session is designed to help you analyze your lifestyle in order to pick a dog that will have the best fit. Do you spend your weekends hiking and camping? Or do you prefer to watch TV in your PJs 98% of the time? Do you have the time/money to groom a dog or would you prefer more of a “wash and wear” type of fur. All of these, and more are important to consider before you bring a pup home. We can help you narrow in on a breed and age group that would be most fitting for you and help prepare you with what to look for in a rescue dog, shelter dog, or a dog from a reputable breeder.

Now that you’ve picked your newest family member, we have to prepare to bring them home! For a puppy, that means stocking up on puppy supplies and puppy proofing, and for an adult dog, that means supplies, setting up a decompression area and preparing the other family members for how to best welcome that dog. Let us help you get started on the right paw with advice tailored specifically to your home situation and your newest family member.

When bringing home a new puppy, it is critical to start off on
the right foot with training and socialization.

Puppies are most open to new experiences before the age of 16 weeks and everything that happens to them during this time, sets the stage for their behavior for the rest of their life. We strive to create puppy programs that address all the developmental nuances of socialization and training to help you raise a well balanced adult dog. We recommend starting puppy training as soon as the puppy is 8 weeks old. If you have a puppy younger than 8 weeks, we are still happy to provide virtual lessons to help you set that puppy up for success with developmentally appropriate socialization and enrichment.

Puppy Training takes place at your home and yard until the pup has had the appropriate vaccinations and can be carefully taken out and about for new experiences.
