What information do you need from a client before you start work?
I want to gauge their level of publishing knowledge and their expectations for the product. Are their expectations realistic? Will they be able to match their wants with their budget and be able to successfully move the product off the shelves once we have completed our part of the task?
I'll need some basic specs for estimating the job and want to know how the files will be submitted.
What sorts of printing projects do you usually cater for?
We are looking for book and catalog related projects: photobooks, cookbooks, family histories, medical books, children's books, and high quality catalogs.
What do you love most about your job?
I love the creative process and helping people see their dreams come true. There is nothing more fulfilling than knowing you played an integral part in bringing a first time author's dreams to life.
Why should our clients choose you?
I'm well rounded and more of a consultant than a salesman. I have worked in typesetting, Editorial, Design & Production, through digital, sheetfed, and web printing operations. I understand the business side of publishing and printing as well, and have worked with all manner of companies from the Big 4 in publishing down to the first time author/publisher.
