We stayed at the Indigo Hotel and had dinner and the breakfast at Poets. Â Both meals were fantastic the grilled tuna was marvelous. Â I had a local draft which was great and service was very good, too. For breakfast we had the crab cake Benedict, definitely need to try it. Â Only comment would be don't sit too close to the door, chilly breeze last night. If we come through Baltimore again this will be on our list of MUST stops. More...

Great dinner and great location. The problem was the jazz band. While it is nice to have a quiet jazz combo, in this instance the music was so loud it was impossible to talk at the table until the band took a break. In this case, the music was a negative. More...

Such great drinks! Â Bartender Ronnie makes a fantastic Vesper. However, why...oh why are they decorating with the grossest, most offensive Halloween decor? ! The General Manager, Jason needs to get his act together. It ruins the aesthetic of a beautifully designed bar. Â White pumpkins in a tasteful pile behind the bar says, harvest, fall, and class. Try it. Â You'll like it. More...

Everything here is great, awesome atmosphere, cold drinks, good music...but...there are some freaky AF clowns behind the bar that NEED to go. I have a legitimate fear of clowns after watching the OG Stephen Kings It and after seeing these, I really do not know how I am expected to feel safe in the bathtub in my room. 9/10 would stay again without clowns. We tried Poet’s for the first time during Restaurant Week. Unfortunately, the restaurant didn’t seem to have a record of our reservation even though we had the Open Table confirmation, so we had to sit at the bar, which turned out fine. It’s nicely decorated inside and the staff was very friendly! The food took quite a while to come (I don’t think they were prepared for how busy restaurant week would be) but was great when it came out! We would definitely go back to try the regular menu! I ordered the mixed green salad with a crab cake. It was delicious. The salad had goat cheese, almonds, mandarin oranges, cranberries, mixed greens and of course crab cakes. Don't miss their happy hour menu being served by the friendliest staff in Bmore. The dining room was tastefully decorated with nice background music. Perfect for the solo traveler or a date night! Nice setting in a happening boutique hotel in the Mt. Vernon area of Baltimore. We arrived as an event was ending in Poets so we sat at the bar as they transitioned back into restaurant mode. Even with the employees hustling around in the restaurant the atmosphere was comfortable and welcoming. The bartenders were fun and went out of their way to make sure we were happy with our cocktails. We eventually moved to our table for dinner and were likely one of maybe three tables there. Service was adequate and our bartender kept stopping by our table to check on drinks and overall satisfaction. The food was probably a 7 out of 10 overall but nothing to complain about. The atmosphere, staff, quality of food/drink collectively make Poets worth a stop. Particularly if you're bar/restaurant hopping in the Mt. Vernon area. More...

The most impressive aspect of Poets is the ambiance. In addition to being an embracing space, the very high ceilings reduce echoes; we didn't hear other table conversations and they didn't hear ours. Our waiter was calm and efficient, so we felt unhurried and comfortable for our meal. The crab dip appetizer was traditionally delicious. My Lexington Market salad was perfectly seasoned and adorned with salmon, shrimp, and crab balls with characteristic flavors. My companion's burger was delightful. Cocktails were interesting, wine was refreshing. The icing on the cake was the free parking at the garage across the street. We look forward to visiting again soon. More...

We had a large late-night after-theater group, old high-school friends catching up after 30 years. The staff seated us in the library, which was lovely, as we could talk and laugh. The service staff seemed to understand us and were patient while we took forever to get around to looking at menus. One of us had a 12-year-old in tow, and the waiter brought her food long before the rest of ours; that was a sensitive touch. The food itself was great (pears and goat cheese crostini, artichoke dip, crab soup...) We will happily come back. More...

I wasn't aware that this restaurant was located inside Hotel Indigo when I was invited, but on a Sunday, it was easy to find and parking was available within a block. I came in the morning while the breakfast/brunch menu was still available. I planned on lunch, but we couldn't split between breakfast and lunch at the table, so I was okay with breakfast. The atmosphere of the restaurant is very inviting and comfortable. The decor is amazing as well. There were only a few other parties in the restaurant at the time, so our server was very available and very good at explaining the menu and getting us what we wanted. My friend and I stayed for over 3 hours, and ended up checking out the lunch menu-- but ended up with some dessert drinks (for adults)! I enjoyed the food and the overall vibe, I'm looking forward to coming back for dinner. More...

So I came here on a whim since I was going to be in the area for the day and I was very impressed! This restaurant is located inside of Indigo hotel and I had to say it has a great vibe. There were plush chairs scattered throughout the dining room area along with a very nice looking bar in the back. Upon walking in, the waiter greeted and seated me very quickly and was very friendly and attentive. Once I sat down, I ordered the "Lexington Market Salad" and a glass of Riesling. The salad was AMAZING, the blackened shrimp was cooked really well, the salmon was amazing as well as the crab cakes. The salad looked so good that the company I was with took one look and ordered the same thing! Afterwards, I ordered the "Blackberry cocktail" (I cannot remember the official name of the drink), however this was equally as good. My only gripe that I had with my experience here is that towards the end, our waiter sort of disappeared. I felt like he continued to be attentive towards an elder couple but then after a while dropped the ball on us. Overall, it was a great experience though and even with this one complaint, I would still come back as the food and service was very good! More...

I decided to try this spot with a girlfriend and we loved the decor and ambiance. She decided on the Avocado and Crab salad with vegetable soup as an appetizer. I chose the Lexington Market Salad which had an abundance of seafood (salmon, shrimp, with crab cake) incorporated into a traditional Caesar. Our server Anthony was superbly attentive and gave great descriptions of each entree. There was a slight issue with flies, but we will certainly visit this venue again. More...
