My family will never take a pet to Paws Mahal again because of the abuse that goes on there. My brother's dog was hit by one of the trainers when he was kenneled next to very loud construction work back in the laundry and bathtub area and became scared. He was upset and barking, begging for help, but instead of helping him, the trainer hit him to shut him up. Then, they put a bark collar on him to shock him if he continued to bark. He went there to play and have fun, not to be severely mistreated. Never take your dog to this horrible facility where he/she will be mistreated. More...

I could not recommend Carol and her team at Paws Mahal enough. Not only did she take wonderful care of our Golden Retriever for the 5 days she had him (as well as giving us a glimpse of the great time he was having through Facebook videos), but she truly cares about all of the animals. Months after we boarded him with her, he got stung by a wasp and started swelling and Carol is the only person I could think to call in a pinch. She gave wonderful advice and our pup ended up being just fine because of her. Thank you Carol! More...

Our boy Rusty is horrible afraid of storms so today we took him to visit Carol. He was treated so good. We looked around before dropping him off. The place smells clean a well as is very peaceful & calming. We were shown the cage he would stay in while storms were passing, was large enough for him to walk around in. Also, through out the day we received text updating us on how he was as well as pics of him outside in the brief sunshine enjoying play time. We picked him up and he was so happy. Carol completely changed the dynamics in my home with my two dogs. First, she came to my home for several seasions to work with my newly adopted dog, Cleo.
Cleo was showing aggression to my first dog, Leila, and had snapped at some guests in my home. Carol worked well with Cleo, and remained calm and in charge, even when Cleo attacked and bit Carol! Carol taught me how to teach Cleo that type of behavior would not be tolerated or even acknowledged.
This past summer, I reached my frustration point with my 4.5 year old Boston Terrier, Leila. I kept telling myself she would calm down as she got older, but approaching her 5th birthday, this was just not happening. I loved Leila, but I did not enjoy being with her at all. I sent Leila to Carol's home for two weeks of training. Carol sent me frequent pictures and videos, and kept me updated. Carol was able to determine Leila's daily exercise level of need, and she also worked with Leila on some basic manners: not jumping on people when they enter the room, not barking like a crazy fool out the window when someone walks by, how to settle to receive affection and not jump all over the place like a mountain goat---you get the picture.
Leila returned home a different dog. She is still her playful, happy self, but she is much calmer and I am able to enjoy spending time with her. She is no longer called "no, no, stop that, get down."
That was two months ago, and the training that Carol gave Leila (and me) is still working.
I would not hesitate to recommend Carol Hasenjager!

Paws Mahal and Carol Culpepper are the best in all of central Arkansas. from boarding to training and everything in between. Carol is the AMAZING dog whisperer and has helped me immensely with 3 different dogs. Recently after several hospitalizations Carol and Paws Mahal took wonderful care of my Luther, a 9 mos old labradoodle for several weeks and they worked with Luther who is still a puppy in his mind but is the size of a small pony now! My precious boy came home like a champ. He's calmer he's not jumping or nipping and is just a wonderful companion. I would recommend Paws Mahal and Carol Culpepper for ANY of your fur baby needs! I cannot say how much I LOVE this place!!!! We have a small male who we were a little hesitant about sending because of his attitude.
