PLANT LADIES (PERSONS) LISTEN UP!San Jose finally has a cute plant shop that's a typical garden store. They have tons of cute pots, succulents and often some unique finds (we just swooped a new calathea medallion plant and some hoyas for christmas presents. I have a new favourite local florist ... :^) I've gone into their little shop on San Pedro a few times as it's so welcoming with the lack of traditional door, and loved it! Their selection is great, and their ceramic pots are decently priced. I also ordered a bouquet for an anniversary (love is love medium which totaled to be ~$75) and they delivered it the day I requested it (I ordered it a few weeks ahead of time) AND sent me an email with what it looks like AND where they dropped it off. If I could give this place more than 5 stars, I would!!I came in with a dead succulent in a cute pot that I had to replace it and learn how to care for it. I know what you're thinking.... how does one kill a succulent? Well I did somehow and it was really saddening. I've gotten a plant from here before so I decided to come back in to replace my dead succulent. The lady who works here was super nice and knew everything about plants. She looked at my pot and was able to tell me exactly what I needed to know about how I killed my previous succulent and how to prevent this again. She gave me great recommendations on the right plant and even potted it for me in the one I had brought.I would definitely recommend this place! More...

All the flowers and plants look very fresh and I like how you can take these nicely designed postcards depicting a succulent, its name and tips on how to care your flora at home. This plant shop is a cute hidden gem located in San Pedro Square that I'm surprised it doesn't have more reviews. The store is pretty small, but there's pretty good variety for the amount of space; you've got your air plants, succulents, pots, bouquets, Squirtle and Oddish planters for any Pokemon fans out there, and there's even a DIY terrarium. The plants looked well cared for, and on their Instagram, they'll post any rare/hard to find plants they get in stock for the day and how many are available. I came on a weekend afternoon, and there was only one person manning the cashier and helping people out, so just a word of advice to maybe come on a weekday during an off time if you're impatient. The girl who rang me up was friendly and seemed to be pretty new. I asked her for suggestions about caring for the plant I purchased and was directed to the caring instructions that came with the plant (which I had already read). Will definitely be back in the future to purchase more plants and to support this pop-up! More...

My partner and I worked with Fractal Flora for our recent wedding at the Los Altos History Museum. We met with Sarine well over a year ago. We gave our color scheme (which was blue, peach/orange, grey) and our ideas, thoughts. She 100% listened to what we wanted. The past year whenever I had questions or something to add I would email her and she was always responsive.Overall they provided us with really gorgeous florals that created a "whimsical" quality to the venue (which was already pretty by itself). They created a hanging floral curtain at the arbor which was stunning. Our sweetheart table gave that pop color we wanted without it being over bearing. Everyone loved the flowers, the centerpieces were taken home by our guests and everyone wanted to take one in the end!Sarine and the team at Fractal Flora did an amazing job and I cannot give enough accolades, they helped make our wedding truly special.Photocredit to Kat Ma Photography More...

Hannah was amazing for our wedding flowers! As soon as I saw their previous work, I knew I had to go with Fractal Flora - I love succulents and airplants and was very excited to plant succulents from my bouquet as a wedding keepsake (so far they're thriving! ). She did a lot of research and was very flexible working with our budget to make sure we got exactly what we wanted. Everything went smoothly on our wedding day - they did a wonderful job with delivery/setup, and the flowers stood out even in an outdoor garden setting. My husband was enamored with the amnesia roses, which perfectly fit our wedding colors / theme. We reused the flowers for our reception and they lasted well after the wedding. It was Easter Sunday, stores and mall are closed, so I'm like ugh... but then this store made the day..Walked by and saw these little pokemon planters such as bulbasaur and odish. I was like this a must. It looks like the planters are 3d printed. They have squirtle and pikachu as well but they weren't cuter than the 2 I chose. .They have lots of cute planters to choose such as all sizes and shapes. Most planters are small and cute and most are to decorate an office table. .They had sell stones, Crystal's not too many fancy one, more  and Crystal's as well. .They had a good variety of air plants for sale, big ones, small ones, and starting price were 6 to 14 depending on sizes. .This store mainly cater to cactus of all types, as well airplants, but they also do special orders for events, such as a lei, crown, and etc..Next to this store is a parking garage so parking isn't an issue. Or street parking on a Sunday is easier than the weekdays or game nights around this area. .If you know people who love cacti and pokemon, this is the place to make a perfect little present to them. This floral shop is such a gem. I haven't come across anything like it in this neighborhood, which is great but also dangerous for my wallet. I have purchased a little bot of everything: a bird of paradise, snake plant, alocasia polly, succulent and a few air plants, etc. Unlike the plants in large corporations, the plants at Fractal Flora are well taken care, stunning, and come with instructions, if needed of course. The staff are incredibly knowledgeable and accommodating. I shared with them through casual conversations/social media of my desire to own a Bird of Paradise. A couple of weeks later they informed me one was ready for me to pick up. When I brought it home I was in awe and almost had to do a double take because it was too beautiful. I've cared for each and every plant from Fractal Flora according to the staffs instructions and they continue to thrive and beautify my home. Yes, the prices are somewhat high in comparison to corporations and large nurseries BUT you get what you pay for...and in his case, beautiful, healthy, thriving plants from knowledgeable staff willing and able to answer any questions/requests with a smile! We had Fractal Flora do our wedding flowers, and they turned out amazingly.  Eunice was super knowledgeable about the flowers, seasonality, how well they hold up in bouquets, etc, and there were so many extra things that she did that were above and beyond. A few examples: - The magnets on the mother's boutonnieres were a nice green color so that you couldn't see them, and they were perfect to avoid having to put a pin through a gown - She thought to ask me if anyone was very allergic to pollen/flowers and recommended that we avoid those types - She took the time to sit down with me and review colors for my wedding and examples of flower types that I had never even heard of- She helped us think of creative ways to make the aisle/ceremony area look more dressed up while being budget friendly She delivered the florals and everyone was in awe over how great everything looked. We had the bridesmaid bouquets in vases on the tables, and guests kept wanting to take them home because they looked so good. My boyfriend and I haven't gone to San Pedro square in several months, so we were surprised to see that there were little pop up shops located on the side of the San Pedro parking structure. Among the shops was Fractal Flora, an adorable floral shop. It appeared that the store specialized in low maintenance types of plants, such as succulents and air plants. I found on Fractal Flora's website, however, that the business also provides exquisite flower arrangements and centerpieces for weddings. We didn't get to spend a lot of time wandering around the store, but there were products that got my attention. The Bulbasaur planter has got to be the cutest one I've ever seen. Bulbasaur is a plant Pokemon, too, so that was totally fitting. The planter that really caught my eye was the amethyst. I thought it was such a unique piece, and I was very drawn to it because I love crystals and working with crystal energies. One of the co-owners told me that if I didn't want to use the amethyst crystal as a planter, it could be re-purposed as a holder for tealight candles. I'm sure that was the original intended use of the amethyst anyway, but I thought it was cooler how Fractal Flora innovatively used it as a planter for an air plant. I had an outstanding customer service experience with the co-owners of Fractal Flora. They were excellent communicators and just simply kind people! Here was my interaction with them:I didn't buy the amethyst planter the day I saw it, but the next day I realized it was the perfect birthday gift for my teacher/mentor. I called the phone number listed on Yelp, which went directly to one of the co-owners (Co-owner A). Although she wasn't present in the store at the time, Co-owner A immediately got a hold of the second co-owner who was holding the fort down at the store (Co-owner B). She advised Co-owner B to check if the item was still available. Co-owner A asked my permission if I could be contacted via text by the number I called, which was my cell. I allowed it, and then Co-owner B instantly texted me and told me the item was on hold for me. When I was on the phone with Co-owner A, I mentioned that I was driving down from Vacaville to pick up the planter. Co-owner A relayed this message to Co-owner B. Considering the long drive, Co-owner B said that they could ship the product to me. I'm from San Jose, so picking up the planter was just a pit-stop before heading home. I appreciated their show of empathy though. Very thoughtful of them extending the offer of shipping it. When I got to the store and met with Co-owner B, my experience with her was delightful. We conversed a bit about the Fractal Flora pop up shop at San Pedro as well as their other store location in Japantown. Since the amethyst planter + air plant combo was going to be a gift, Co-owner B carefully placed everything in a cute, petite bag and added tissue paper. She also placed an instructions guide on how to water and care for the air plant. It looked great and ready to be gifted as it was!I am highly impressed by Fractal Flora and will definitely be returning. The co-owners are talented florists, and the products are great. Most importantly, it's assuring to know that this small, local business provides quality service and is ran with integrity. More...

I'm not really a succulent/any-type-of-plant person. Unfortunately, I do NOT have a green thumb. In fact, I probably unintentionally kill more plants than I do help them thrive. I recently got some succulents as a gift, and honestly, the only reason they're alive is because I've given them over to my mom...I'm better at taking care of dogs...cause they remind me that they're there and need care. Sorry succulents. BUT! Fractal Flora is probably succulent heaven for those who do love plants and have a knack for caring for plants. They have pre-vased (is that a term?!) as well as "build-your-own" succulents with a station and everything (this station has different colored sands, pebbles, and those frilly plant things that you put at the base of the plant vase...I really don't know plants...).The products are so beautiful and unique. Plus, this is a local pop-up, a fact that makes everything x10 better and cooler. Also, everything seemed fairly priced (as far as I know). The girl at the store said that they've been around for two months. So...you should probably come check it out before they close up shop! It seems that they also participate in wedding-flowering (is this a term?!) I don't know much about weddings either.Whether it's for yourself or for a gift, I definitely recommend stopping by to take something home (all you plant lovers). More...
