About

When I was in your shoes as a business owner looking to hire a website or search engine optimization (SEO) professional, I learned a few things. The things I learned were not always good.

First, I found that website design and build professionals were slow, unresponsive, and expensive.

Jim at SEO Wrench has done a great job driving traffic to our website and making changes and keeping our website relevant and up to date. I have used large companies in the past for website and SEO work and they have all proven to be not very responsive nor willing to take the time to understand the intricacies of the niche market we cover. Thankfully, Jim gets the job done and we have been very happy with his work. More...

Q&As

I believe that a great website is a website that has a sharp, but simple and easy to view appearance. We know that we have to capture the visitor's attention within about 3 seconds. That is the maximum to make a first impression to capture the visitor and encourage them to either stay on the site to read, or complete an action. A good website will be mobile responsive across all devices and have a very fast page load speed. Because we know content is king, we have to put your very best information forward in a way that encourages the visitor to purchase from your site or further digest the information you want to present.

When speaking with a new client about a new project, I want to learn about your business model, your goals, and your vision.

What makes your company the best?
What makes your company unique?
What do you want your website to do? sell product? provide information?
Who are your biggest competitors?
Show me a couple of others' websites that you like (so I can see your preferences)
Show me a couple of others' websites that you do not like (so I know what not to create)
What is your time deadline and what is your budget?

Having been a small business owner myself in an unrelated market for 12 years, I know how challenging this can be. It brings me a great deal of joy to be able to assist other business owners to be successful. I love to see website owners get more traffic that results in more leads, customers, and revenue. This is a challenging task and I love it. Website design and SEO is an ever-changing art that requires me to stay educated and constantly improving. I really enjoy providing this service at a price point that is far lower than others in the market. I love being able to say to a client "see, I told you I could help you without spending a fortune".

Initially, I started my own business in an unrelated industry because I had an entrepreneur's heart and spirit. What I learned while operating that business was the key to my becoming a web professional. I learned three major lessons as a small business owner:

1) I learned that all businesses need a website. This is because over 95% of all consumers search online for a product or service online prior to purchase or contacting a business. This is because mobile internet use is at an all time high. The Yellow Pages are no longer popular. Customers are searching online even if they plan to purchase locally simply because the internet is the information center.

2) I learned that no matter how awesome and pretty my website appeared, if I did not perform plenty of search engine optimization to make it visible - that it was pretty much invisible. Imagine having the most beautiful department store in the world with all the latest styles, jewelry, etc. But you build that store in the back of a run down industrial park. If no one can find your site and it is not in front of them on the search engine result pages, it will not be productive.

3) This was the hardest lesson I learned. I discovered that I could not afford most of these services. As a small business owner starting out, I could not afford a $2500 website build and $1500 every month for search engine optimization. It drove me to become a professional in this website and SEO industry so that I can help small business owners like myself to be more successful. You do not have to spend a fortune to be successful with your business website.

I am fast, efficient, and affordable. I complete all of the work personally myself. I am accessible by telephone, email, and text. I appreciate frequent communication from clients that want to be involved. I will always return your calls or emails promptly. I am the best choice because I will treat all of my clients with the priority, dignity, and respect that I would expect myself.

Unfortunately, the SEO and website industry are filled with unscrupulous individuals that promise the world and provide much less. This is especially true for companies that hire firms in other countries to do the actual work for them at a lower cost.
