IDB Wedding Films

At IDB Wedding Films, our aim is to create cinematic stories that last a lifetime. Having worked as a videographer in the advertising and corporate sectors, I was asked by a friend to craft a wedding film for their daughter in 2022. It was here that I first discovered a whole new area of film-making that allowed me to create stories for couples on the happiest days of their lives, and I instantly decided that this was where I wanted to concentrate my efforts. Capturing natural, happy, unguarded emotions is at the heart of all good films. Where else can you be surrounded by that throughout your working day? My approach is friendly and unobtrusive, and I use high-end cinema cameras, edit all the films myself, and work with a second camera operator who is also a qualified drone pilot with many TV credits to their name. I am based in Bedfordshire but will travel across the UK on request. For a no-obligation chat, please get in touch.

What do you love most about your job?

I love capturing the natural, happy emotions that happen on a couple's biggest day. When working with couples I find it is like meeting new friends rather than new clients.

What inspired you to start your own business?

I worked in advertising agencies for many years and then left to set up as a corporate videographer. In late 2022 friends of ours asked me to film their daughters wedding and enjoyed it so much that I was immediately hooked.

Why should our clients choose you?

Every wedding videographer will have their own style that works for them. Because I have a background working as an art director for a large advertising agency I not only got to learn from some of the industry's best cinematographers and editors. But I really learned how to tell and sell a story, so rather than just piecing together bits of footage, I think about the films in a way that will represent the emotions of the day. I use a cinema camera, that is perhaps considered a bit unwieldy by a lot of videographers, but the image quality is so good that I think it's worth it. But I also have smaller cameras for when that's more appropriate, and offer a second camera operator for extra coverage and aerial footage. I like to try and capture as many natural and unguarded moments as possible, rather than staged shots, and couples often remark on the moments they'd forgotten about or missed altogether.
