Jane was incredibly engaging, motivating and knowledgeable with an obvious passion for improving the wellbeing of others. I attended a workshop with Jane last week. I’ve since made her quinoa salad (delicious) , the Thai butternut squash soup (gorgeous), carrot and ginger soup (a really zingy winter warmer) and the mackerel pâté (soooo good). I have seen you in action before and was delighted to learn that you would be with us this week to join in our Wellness Week events. It was so helpful to learn how to add protein to your diet to keep you fuller for longer and therefore fully functioning until you get to your next meal - very important for people with busy lives. We were delighted to have Jane and Vital Nutrition with us last night at Ards Blair Mayne Wellbeing and Leisure Complex in Newtownards for a Female Balance Workshop. Yet again it was another fabulous night, with us having almost 70 people for the workshop (our highest yet). Session was fantastic and the feedback from everyone was that it was thoroughly enjoyable, informative and presented in a very professional manner. Really happy to have Jane back at the Belfast site this week. The guys really enjoyed the workshop and everything was tailored to coincide with their various work patterns within the construction industry. Jane incorporates a mixture of elements into the workshop, she talks about the nutritional facts, creates a team work environment with group challenges and shares meal plans that are tailored to the various different working conditions. One of the key factors addressed today was taking the necessary precautions when it comes to working outside in hot temperatures, how to stay hydrated and the different types of food necessary for slow release energy throughout the day.We look forward to working with Vital Nutrition again in the future. Jane's " Vital Nutrition for Living Well" workshop for cancer patients and their family members at Cancer Lifeline, is crucial in assisting them to make simple dietary changes which helps support their health and well-being. The course has supported participants to make small but significant and positive changes in relation to,understanding the nutritional value of certain foods,how to take control of sugar cravings, understanding food labels, why colour is important in a diet,portion distortion.Jane's approach is professional yet informal to ensure maximum participation. Participants go away with new insights and plans to adapt and change their diet and eating habits for the better. As part of the Council Health & Wellbeing strategy I had Jane come and do various workplace nutritional workshops - eating healthy on a budget, stress management, heart health - to name a few. From the first sessions, word travelled fast and every workshop quickly filled up. Each year staff ask of Jane is coming back again and they love a goodie bag or good sample to keep them going.
