What do you love most about your job?
I get a lot of satisfaction witnessing people improve their psychological wellbeing, by gaining a deeper understanding of how their past difficulties have impacted them.
What inspired you to start your own business?
Psychotherapy and art have immense healing qualities. I believe that everyone has huge potential for happiness, and I aim to support people to see this potential for themselves.
Why should our clients choose you?
I offer psychodynamic, person-centred and trauma informed psychotherapy. I will work sensitively with you at your own pace. Together we can set goals that I will support you to work towards. You can choose to work with or without art-making, and we can meet over the phone or online.
I am a fully qualified, HCPC registered and insured Art Psychotherapist. I undertake regular clinical supervision, and have an enhanced DBS certificate.
Art Psychotherapy (psychodynamic)
What is Art Psychotherapy?
Art Therapy is the process of creating art with the guidance and support of a professional art therapist, and is a type of psychotherapy. Through the process of making art, clients are able to explore their inner world, develop greater self-awareness, express thoughts and feelings, access creativity and self-esteem, and better cope with stress.
The opportunity to fully explore unconscious and conscious feelings using art materials in place of the pressure to communicate verbally provides an unique freedom.
AT is proven to be effective in treating depression, anxiety, trauma, bereavement, addiction, mental health diagnoses, as well as difficulties related to learning or physical disabilities, neurological conditions and physical illnesses.
