I only had a brief phone conversation with Tricia to discuss ongoing issues with my Irish Setters behaviour, particularly around his anxiety of the car. Tricia was very helpful and gave me some excellent advice and shared her extensive insight of working with Setters. We contacted Tricia after adopted a rescue dog that showed some concerning behaviour issues. We were very worried and even thought of taking her back. Like magic, everything changed after only one session! We could not believe it! We had a 2 hour one to one session to deal with a few behaviour problems which had developed with our cockapoo. We were about to go on holiday to stay with relatives and needed to make changes quickly. Tricia's session was an eye opener to us. The suggestions were simple to follow and changes were immediate. So glad we went to Tricia and would highly recommend . My dog has really come on since we attended Tricia's classes together. When we first walked in she looked blankly at me at each command, but with practice and consistency, she now walks nicely on the lead and can perform some basic commands. A Rescuer for Rescues!We recently rescued a Saluki bitch, 5 years old who seemed well behaved and rather placid however, turns out, not cat friendly and seemed to bark at some, but not all dogs too. Trish soon explained what the issues were and what we needed to do. Remarkably, within a few days of following her instructions, our new girl started to loose interest in other dogs and gradually, in the fluffy beasts. I would definitely highly recommend Tricia as an excellent dog behaviourist. I rang Tricia after our dogs had just had their third fight,with one ending up at the vets again. I was feeling very distressed at the time and really didn't want to re home one of the dogs. Straightaway Tricia gave me some good advice and what she said made sense. She arranged to come and assess the dogs that evening, and advised me what to do with the dogs until then to prevent another fight.After assessing the dogs at our home,Tricia gave us a straightforward,easy to follow training plan which had almost immediate effect.She asked us to follow the plan to the letter and to keep in regular contact with her to update her on the progress. Within a week there is was a vast difference in the dogs behaviour.They are both so much calmer than they were before,which has improved all of our lives. I first contacted Tricia, when my red and white setter wouldn't come back when he was nine months old. Tricia has been a sanity saver! We first approached her after failing to get our young mixed breed dog to walk on the lead, despite puppy classes and one-to-one sessions with a specialist trainer. Tricia came up with a practical solution that worked overnight and we still use it 8 years later. She had also helped us deal with a barking problem which required trying a few different techniques until we found one that worked. Recently she advised us on settling a puppy in with our older dog, and we went to her excellent puppy training classes where she also gives individualised advice for any issues that crop up. Tricia helped us with an initial home visit in the first few weeks of having a new puppy. As new dog owners, this was an invaluable experience which helped us deal with some of the new puppy behavioural issues, including toilet training, jumping, biting and interaction with our 2 cats. We then attended the group dog training classes. This was hugely successful and equipped us with a set of key commands to encourage good behaviour. Tricia's instructions were very clear and over the course of the 6 weeks we were able to practice with Tricia observing and providing constructive guidance, helping us to deal confidently with our dog. We have known Trish over 10 years, and she has been extremely helpful with helping us train 2 collies in that time. Trish is very patient, caring and truly provides a wonderful service. Our most recent experience was when we phoned her as our dog was stressed after Bonfire Night and started whining all night when left alone. I spent hours reading almost every puppy training text online, then watching every video I could find, and ended up finding myself, and my puppy Wilfred, thoroughly confused by all the contradictory information. Thankfully I found Tricia! Her teaching is simple and clear, and the techniques you take home with you achieve results very quickly. A big thank you to Trish for sorting out our new rescue Saluki!We are devoted dog lovers and have a real affinity with Saluki's who have their unique set of issues in particular, recall. Luka, our latest family member, was 6 months old when we acquired him from Saluki Welfare and seemed to settle in rather quickly with our other hound but suddenly became food aggressive. Trish sorted this out in 24 hours but there were other problems. He became over excited when meeting certain dogs which escalated in to rather aggressive snarling. Trish put this down to "nervous aggression" and as we had very little history about him (we were his 5th home!!), Trish had to use various methods to identify what the actual issue was and remedy it - fast! A couple of sessions soon corrected Luka's nervousness and over the last few weeks, we are very pleased to report that Luka is 90% cured. Trish made it very clear that it was going to take some time and effort on our part too and we are confident that within a few more weeks, we should have his confidence restored and he will be greeting other dogs with a little more decorum. I brought my unsocialised rescue greyhound Keira to Tricia's classes back in March this year, with the goal of maybe entering very basic obedience competitions with her as I had done with my last rescue greyhound. She has come on in leaps and bounds - any problems Tricia was immediately there to help - and I always have felt very comfortable with her when I inevitably made mistakes and needed extra help. Top class, we needed some help with our Westie pup and Tricia was superb. Not only can she read the dogs behaviour but Tricia also read our behaviour and has shown us tips on helping train daisy. I cannot recommend Tricia highly enough, don’t get me wrong Tricia doesn’t click her fingers and your dog will instantly become amazing, instead you get taught how to train your dog properly and if you stick with the things you are shown you will be delighted with the results.
