What can I say? Therese is a wonderful person inside and out and such a talented photographer. Our little girl, Florence, has complex disabilities including Autism. Taking good photos of her is so tricky as she never stops moving and has lots of quirky mannerisms. She also finds it a challenge to accept new people into her space. Therese's warmth and gentle nature shone through immediately. She made an instant connection with Florence who felt completely at ease with her. We Spent over 2 hours with Therese enjoying a lovely walk around Newmillerdam, finding perfect spots for lots of relaxed, beautifully autumnal photographs. Therese has an incredible ability to catch those perfect moments so often missed by us. She also got some amazing shots of Harris our black labrador. Amazing exhibition. Teresa has such a beautiful and unique talent at capturing a child's raw emotion. Every single photo spoke volumes and it was actually possible to feel the inner light of each child - totally unique in their own way. What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?
After years of experience I find that my clients always love a photograph that conveys real emotions, not posed photos where they feel un natrual but the photos where they can see that they are themselves. Then technically you need great composition and the right light source . If you have all of these 3 components you never go wrong.
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
I always have a long conversation either over the phone or email depending on the clients preference. I ask lost of questions like what colours they like, hobbies, what personalities the children have, have they got a favourite toy, what locations do they like. Have they had a look at my portfolio, what feel to the photos do they prefer etc etc. This allows me to really understand the need of the client and what they are looking for, it helps both of us understand if we are a good match.
What do you love most about your job?
That I can capture wonderful moments in time that never fades to be cherished for a life time. The gratefulness and happiness that my clients show when they receive their photos makes me feel so incredible humble and grateful to be able to do a job that I love.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I have always had a great passion for creativity and photography, it wasn't until I had my own children that I really started to pursue my business.
Why should our clients choose you?
I can offer a relaxed and fun photo session and provide you with the outcome you want. I have never had a customer that has not been incredibly happy with their photos or their session. I go out of my way to provide a sense of style that I love and that the customers who hire me also love. I offer packages that include a number of edited digital images, depending on the package choose, with no hidden printing or other costs which differs from most photographers pricing.
