Well where do I start I came here last week for the first time in years my experience was amazing the staff was so helpful so nice and welcoming I've stayed in Hotels around the world and this certainly has been one of my favourite ones to go to. Very charming place and although it can be hard to find your room (loads of turns and doors) we had a very comfortable family room (a double bed and a single one for my 3yo) and really enjoyed our stay. It's listed as a 3* hotel, however I wouldn't rate it as anywhere near that, its past being "tired" it's exhausted! The room smells very musty and nasty, stains over all the walls and furnishings, the "double bed" is so tiny and very soft, we just kept rolling into the centre of the bed! The flooring was filthy and stained, both in our room and corridors. The bathroom floor was supposed to be white Lino but it was so badly ingrained with dirt it was grey. We felt dirty staying here and had both windows wide open to try to air the room out, we were offered a breakfast to help compensate our stay, but the fruit was off as was the fruit juice, the poached egg was rock hard, the only thing that was ok was the toast. The service was slow and I had to point out that the fruit was off, which the staff agreed with me it was! So why not remove it from the breakfast bar?! Apparently the room we occupied is going to be renovated as from tomorrow, believe me it needs it! As does the rest of the hotel, the reception staff where lovely and really tried to help us. We had a weekend break there as winners of a competition, it was wonderful. The location is in a quiet spot but literally 10 minutes walk from The hotel but you will not get any of the late night city centre noise.
