Setting my own hours, deciding to be there more for my family. That was the main motivation.

We're an honest, hard working small family business and our reputation means everything to us. That means looking after our clients to the best of our ability and earning trust. That means a lot.

We often do works for clients who are not available to meet us in person, sometimes it's just not possible and through the COVID crisis it's been a time when we've had to do online and remote business. We take before and after photos to show the work has been done before final approval and settlement. That has always worked well and we can usually resolve any issues. We get a lot of repeat business doing things that way too, clients at work are often happy for us to stop by the house and clear rubbish away. It's very convenient for us all too and direct invoicing takes care of the payment side of things.

The outside work hasn't been a problem with maintaining social distancing, wearing facemeasks etc, but clearing indoors means we have to agree to the rooms being vacant before we go in and do the heavy lifting. It was a problem at the start but as things eased we were able to pick up where we left off. Keeping windows and doors open and maintaining good ventilation were the important steps to take there and we've remained fit and healthy through the COVID pandemic, thankfully.
