What do you love most about your job?
Above all else, we value our clients and their instructions, and our primary objective is to ensure that they not only receive first-class service from us but also that they pay a fair fee which is clear from the outset. Too many firms do not make their professional fee clear to their clients, and this often causes disputes further down the line. Our fees are agreed at the beginning of the file opening stage with all of our clients, and we are proud of the clarity and reassurance that this gives them.
What inspired you to start your own business?
The model was broken. The model had to change. The model and the proper provision of legal services now has a chance to change and change fundamentally - everywhere. Citizens crave early, honest and realistic overviews of all likely outcomes in their disputes. People also expect their lawyer to be on their side but also be as candid as is required. The future of the mass legal market is digital accessibility and approachable lawyers who have the gumption to impart the realities of life to all of their clients in an expeditious way. The days of artificial cost-building exercises have thankfully had their day.

We have recently acquired an excellent Case Management System called 'Clio'. This is the only case management system which has been formally approved and endorsed by the Law Society of England & Wales. Clio is currently in the process of rolling out a mobile phone app which clients will eventually be able to use to upload/access documents (e.g. photographic ID), which will mean that the need for clients to travel into our office in person to drop in hard copy documentation will be significantly reduced.
What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
We ensure that any contact we have with our clients is conducted in line with current Covid-19 guidance. In advance of clients attending our office, we provide them with a quick Covid-19 questionnaire to ensure that they are safe to attend before booking an appointment. We also ensure that our consultation rooms are cleaned before and after meetings, and we provide all our clients with hand sanitiser gel upon arrival.
