Every time someone I know visits Stortford I always sent them to a dorringtons. Greggs is good, but Dorringtons definitely feels more like a local family battery. Staff are always very smiley and are happy to help, even early on a Saturday morning. I'm always happy when I make it in for a sausage sandwich. More...

I needed a 30th birthday cake at short notice (3 working days) so I called the Hatfield Heath store.I dealt with Rebecca who was so helpful and polite! They agreed to do me the cake and gave me lots of options to make it personal. I collected the cake from Staple Tye and the ladies there were lovely too. The cake tasted amazing and my sister loved it. All in all I cant thank or recommend these guys enough. x More...

I know the sausage rolls are sadly now made to a different recipe to when i was young. However, the pastry is still so tasty. Cream cakes yum! Baguettes fresh , Victoria sponge cake remains a firm family favourite More...

Who doesn't like Dorringtons? Great little bakers to have around the corner. Good food and drink. Nothing gourmet but workers grub. Bread and rolls always high quality and tasty. Only downside is staff can sometimes be a little slow and on occasion ignore potential customers who are waiting to be served. Although this has never happened to me. Would recommend. More...

Ahhhh Dorringtons.. Just the sound of the name rolling off my tongue gets it salivating. To me, Dorringtons is like sunshine or puppies, no one of competent judgment could possibly recall any memory of the place without breaking a warm nostalgic smile; it's just simply the only place in the storty area to get a little treat of material joy. Sometimes I feel old father time pulling on my coattails, and my first thought, to my surprise, isn't that I'll one-day be without all the obvious delights of this world, but rather the subtle ones, and no delight is more subtle than the crunch of fresh Dorry bread. You go Dorrys, you just keep on going. More...

Sometimes after a night out on the town and the question of where me and my pals are going to eat to comes up, I always whisper "Dorringtons" under my breath, even though I know its not going to be open for another 6 hours (assuming its Friday night/early Saturday). I know it's silly but its the truth; its really the only place I want to eat. Each bite of Shekos turns to ash in my mouth, Its a nicotine patch, it's a bump of methodone, it's just not Dorringtons. But I don't mind too much that it closes relatively early and isn't open on Sundays; because it would be like if the sun never set, no one would know when bedtime was and we would all probably get sunburnt. I have to remember that I'm just being a little greedy; wanting it to be 24/7 or at-least like tesco express. Buts that's just being human, so I don't kick myself too much. Thanks Dorringtons, Everyday you teach me a little something about the world, and a little something about myself. More...

Good traditional bakery with quality breads, sandwiches and cakes. Reasonably priced too. We need more of this type of place rather than the here-today-gone-tomorrow artisan bakers charging £4+ for an average load that seem to be springing up all over the place.

Unfortunately the circumstances of life mean that I can't spend every day in Dorringtons, but every night I do, In my dreams. I'll do my best to articulate a recurring one; I'm walking down the high street, and the colours seems a little off, I suppose the best way to say is that they are a little greyer than the optimistic part of me remembers. Im carrying two large bags, each becoming more and more attractive to gravity with every step, but then I see Dorrys, and all of a sudden, I might as well be carrying a bag of feathers. My heart becomes light and my legs become strong. Before I know it, I'm running, running so darn fast that I feel like its only the thought of the approaching Sausage baguette that keeps my soul from flying off into the ether. I burst through the doors and a large Farmhouse floats into my hands (sometimes its a bag of jam doughnuts and sometimes its a pack of mince pies, if its around Christmas time). Thats when I normally wake up with a big ol' smile and I'm ready to start the day. Thank you Dorringtons, thanks for letting this silly ol' dreamer, dream his silly ol' dreams. More...

If you don't love Dorrys, then whats your deal? Sometimes I doubt myself and where we're all going, as a species, but then I remember that Dorringtons is only up the road, and we must have done something right under the Lords eyes to deserve it. I don't know if theres an afterlife or any of that bizz, but I do know that if there is, it'll be green and white striped themed. Thank you Mr and Mrs Dorrington. More...
