Describe your creative process.
I like to listen more than I talk, and that allows me to get on the same page as the client as soon as possible. Sometimes more discussion is needed before making a start, and that's absolutely fine as well.
Before I reach out I will have my own ideas about what might be needed. I may suggest we browse some of my existing work to see if a spark might be lit, or sometimes we'll look further afield before we find the look that ticks the boxes.
What information do you need from a client before you can start work?
Once we've decided we can work together, I like to have the client fill in a short form I've designed to answer the most important questions regarding the project. For batch orders, priority levels can be assigned to improve delivery times. Over the years I have refined my process, and I'm always available during business hours to discuss projects.
One form is used per design and there are two sections to fill out — one is focused on the brand, and the other provides known details about the project itself. I've found that this is the fastest way to get up-and-running *fast*.
Importantly, there are no contracts to sign unless requested. This was a big decision for me, but in this fast digital world I opted to simplify my service by offering clients 100% of the creative rights over requested design files. Time saved means happier customers!
Once we've agreed on the deliverables per the form, I will request a standard 50% retainer to begin work. Final payment will be due only upon the project’s completion and after any desired revisions.
What do you love most about your job?
I love the freedom to set my own schedule. This allows me to get lost in my work. Although time is an important factor, quality always comes first.
Nothing beats completing work that you know you put your back into.
What inspired you to start your own business?
For me it's about the freedom not to have a boss, or an office to march off to in the morning. (Although that's not so common these days!) I think I produce my best results when I'm able to get lost in my work. For that, I need a safe, quiet space to work.
Running my own business gives me more non-design related tasks, but I love being able set my own plan for the day.
Why should our clients choose you?
I don't think there's anything I can say here that I'd want to convince clients on. Design is merit-based in my mind, so I invite people to judge me on my work rather than what I write here!

I can provide my services remotely, and I'm very flexible to cater for most needs.
What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
I've actually had a home office since 2015, so by the time the pandemic hit I'd already established my routine at home to get things done. The vast majority of my work has always been remote.
