I started Hoopla Events because for as long as I've known, I've had a passion for planning events and collaborating with people. My other passion is a cause that is close to my heart: my love for everything adoption! Both of my children are adopted, so this cause is extremely meaningful to me. So I thought…why not create a model combining my two passions? – plan incredible events and include the philanthropic component for my clients.

My 20+ years of experience in the advertising industry working with clients on large-scale accounts to bring brands to life ended up being a seamless transition to my own business. My clients had the utmost trust in my skills to ensure a high-quality product would be delivered as per the strategy, direction, timeline, and budget specified. These skills contributed to bringing stories to life for my new event planning clients over the years.

Bela from Carlo cucina was able to magic up and perfect a most perfect menu in November 2021 that had all my mums favourites on and it described her taste to a T. This was for my mums funeral wake- who had passed very suddenly. I wanted every part of her funeral to be perfect as my mum was such a beautiful warm loving person and I wanted every part of the funeral to show and be like how she was- with so much character, colour and warmth. Bela was able to help me do just that, and not only that she herself was such a loving kind person who was good to have there too, she gave me a nice hug and made me feel a bit better especially with the menu she produced perfectly. All I had to do was describe a little bit of what my mums food taste was (she loved Mediterranean/Greek style food with things like hummus, carrots and crackers as she used to love snacking on this and foods that weren’t too filling) and it’s almost as if she knew my mum with the menu she created. It added to make the day perfect, everyone loved the food there wasn’t much left at the end! And I’ll never forget how you made my mums funeral go as good as it could, my mum would have loved it too thank you so much Bela

Awesome to deal with especially if you need something very specific. We needed a DJ that could also speak Chinese on the mic. Had a quote within 24hrs and the DJ was awesome. They also tossed in some free addons like speakers etc. managed to stay within budget!
