There are many types of massage to choose from, all with their own benefits. One of our most popular services is hot stone massage. Not only can it relieve tension, but it also helps with arthritis and autoimmune diseases. We try to educate people about what each treatment offers, so they can find one that’s right for them.
It’s well known what massages can do for both physical and emotional tension. However, people may not be aware of how it can connect people with their body. People will push themselves to the limit, and ignore their body’s response. People should value what their body does for them every day. This is why massage can also work for people who have issues with confidence or body image.
A professional massage therapist should have training, particularly if they’re offering a speciality like reflexology. Personally, I believe that it’s all about trust. Bodies can talk. Regardless of what a person may say, I can tell almost immediately if they’re uneasy or tentative. When I’m giving someone a massage, I’m allowing them to open up to me. They need to be assured that their body is in good hands.

I have been working with Michael for about 15 months now. Currently 61 years old and not a young chicken anymore! Have been experiencing ongoing health concerns such as fatty liver, joint pain and lots of weight gain. Prior to meeting with Michael I figured there was nothing no one can do to help me anymore. It took me a while to understand and apricate the methods of Michaels holistic approach but without a doubt has changed my life! I have now lost to date 33kg, my doctor is extremely happy with my improved bone density, I have much more energy to play with my grandkids and my knees and back no longer hurt. I could not be happier. I have decided to stay with Michael long term as the results are so great and can say, just like I have read many others here say, he was worth every cent and HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Hi, I'm Tamas, and I want to share my experience with of working with the team at Hexis Health. For over a year, they've been a huge part of my journey to feeling and looking better. When I was trying to get in shape on my own I was really struggling. My body felt stiff and limited, I was constantly stressed, and honestly, I just wasn't happy with how frustrating it felt. I'd lose motivation, I didn't know the right way to do things, and I just wasn't seeing any results with the training programs available online. That's when I found Hexis Health, and it was a game-changer. Working with Cian and Michael has been amazing. Cian creates workouts that are perfectly tailored to my needs, and he's incredibly attentive to form. He really focuses on making sure you're doing exercises correctly, which has helped me get stronger and more flexible, without getting injured. Michael has been a fantastic guide when it comes to nutrition and understanding the connection between my mind and body. He helped me understand why I was stress eating and gave me practical advice on how to make healthier choices. What truly sets Hexis Health apart is the personal connection. They genuinely care about your progress and listen to your concerns. It's not just about workouts; it's a holistic approach to wellness. They've helped me build sustainable habits that have improved my life in so many ways. I'm stronger, I have more energy, and I feel more confident in myself. I'm also more aware of my body and mind, and I know how to manage stress better. Looking back, I'm incredibly proud of how far I've come. I'm grateful for the support and guidance I've received from Cian and Michael. If you're looking for a team that truly cares about your well-being, and who will work with you to achieve your goals, I wholeheartedly recommend Hexis Health. It's an investment in yourself that's absolutely worth it.

I 100% agree Michael is WORTH EVERY CENT! - This was the first time I ever actually invested money into my self, I was hesitant, nervous, scared, but after a simple chat with Michael it was very clear his knowledge, skill and expertise was well beyond that of any physiotherapist, Chiro, personal trainer and nutritionist I have ever worked with! I play competitive B grade soccer and have always struggled with foot pain, knee pain and various injuries. The only solutions others have ever provided was to ice, rest, and do some random exercise that never helped. When I meet Michael I was at the point of under going knee surgery and so glad I didn't. It took some time to understand the process, and I had a lot of bad habits to break, but now 2 years later, I am 100% pain and injury free for the first time in 15 years, no surgery needed, my overall health is the best its ever been and my mental health is the best it has ever been. On top of that, I am now in A grade soccer and the fittest and fastest on the team, something I never dreamed would be possible with all my old injuries. I could go on, but hands down, you won't find anyone who better understands health, wellness and fitness, trust me I've tried looking and spent tens of thousands on useless people. Thank you again Michael!!!

What types of massages does a Massage Therapist offer?
Swedish massage - This is a gentle type of full body massage that is ideal for people who have a lot of tension, are sensitive touch and are new to massage. It can help to release muscle knots and is a good choice if you want to fully relax during your treatment.
Hot stone massage - Hot stone massage is best for people who have muscle pain and tension or who simply want to relax. The massage therapist uses heated stones in lieu of or in addition to their hands.
Aromatherapy massage - Aromatherapy massages are best for people who want to have an emotional healing component to their massage. Aromatherapy massages combine soft, gentle pressure with the use of essential oils. Essential oils are diluted before being applied to the skin.
Deep tissue massage - Deep tissue massage uses more pressure than a Swedish massage. It is a good option if you have chronic muscle problems such as soreness, injury or imbalance.
Sports massage - Sports massage is a good option if you have a repetitive use injury to a muscle such as what you may get from playing a sport. It’s also a good option if you are prone to injuries because it can be used to help prevent sports injuries.
Trigger point massage - Trigger point massages are best suited for people who have injuries, chronic pain, a specific issue or condition. Sometimes areas of tightness in the muscle tissues, known as trigger points can cause pain in other parts of the body. By focusing on relieving trigger points, this type of massage can reduce pain.
Reflexology - Reflexology is a great option for people who are looking to relax or restore their natural energy levels. It is also a good option if you aren’t comfortable being touched on your entire body. Reflexology uses gentle to firm pressure on different pressure points of feet, hands or ears.
Shiatsu massage - Shiatsu massage is best for people who want to feel relaxed and relieve stress, pain and tension.
Thai massage - Thai massage is best for people who want a more active form of massage and want to reduce and relieve pain and stress.
Prenatal massage - Prenatal massage can be a safe way for women to get a massage during pregnancy. It can help reduce pregnancy body aches, reduce stress and ease muscle tension.
Couple’s massage - A couple’s massage is a massage that you do with your partner, friend or family member in the same room. Other treatments such as pedicures, facials, and body scrubs are sometimes offered as part of a package.
Chair massage - A chair massage is best for people who want a quick massage that focuses on your neck, shoulders and back. A chair massage can also be a way to introduce you to massage if you have never had one before. This type of massage uses light to medium pressure.
What should I consider before deciding on my massage therapist?
There are a number of factors that are worth considering before choosing your masseuse.
Choice – It is important to consider why you want a massage. Do you want to find relief from chronic pain or are you just looking for a way to relax? Deciding why you want to get a massage will help you narrow down your options and find the right massage therapist.
Comfort- Getting a massage is a great way to relax both physically and mentally. It is easier to take advantage of this benefit when you feel totally comfortable. That is why you should find a massage therapist that makes you feel comfortable and at ease.
Recommendations – You are likely to have at least one friend or family member that has visited a professional massage therapist and read their reviews on Bark.
You can be confident that any of the Bark local massage therapists listed will give you a relaxing and therapeutic massage.
How do I check the Massage Therapists’ credentials?
You could look for massage therapists with a Level 3 Diploma in Massage or Complementary Therapies. The Council for Soft Tissue Therapies (GCMT) is the governing body for massage therapy and recommends that all massage therapists have taken a full or part-time course.
Before you choose a massage therapist, you could read testimonials and read details of their services on their website.
You could also look at their profile page on Bark and read massage reviews from past customers too. This might also help you get some ideas for the type of massage you want to book.
